Groomsmen gifts non-alcoholic??

Amanda, on June 24, 2016 at 6:42 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 27

FH is having trouble figuring out what to get his groomsmen for their thank you gifts. Three of his groomsmen will be his brothers, only one of whom drinks (but FH does not want to encourage it) and alcoholism runs in their family so he wants to steer clear of beer mugs, whiskey, shot glasses, etc. and his other groomsmen only drinks occasionally. What else can he give? Everything online is alcohol related.

What about cufflinks? Or engraved pocket knives? I've also seen nice personalized men's travel toiletry bags on etsy. Lots of nice stuff there in general.

We got our groomsmen and dads these really cool watches from original grain. They have a decent price range from $99 and up. The faces and the bands on some of them are made from wood. Both our groomsmen and our dads loved them..

FH got a really nice set of cuff links as a GM gift a couple years ago. Also, instead of beer mugs, maybe a nice insulated coffee tumbler?

We did cufflinks too. What about engraved money clips, wallets, tie clips, or water bottles, like nice camelback ones.

We got them money clips engraved with their initials. Not original at all, but I have seen them use them post-wedding.

Money clips, a really nice pocket knife. What are they into? Do they golf? Sports?

My friends husband did personalized hatchets. I'd go with what their interests are. If they golf, you could do personalized golf balls and a gold towel, if they fish, you could do something fishing related, etc.

The all-in-one tools (Leatherman or the like). Even if they already have one, they can put the extra in their car.

DH was in my sister's wedding a couple years ago. The groom ( my BIL) bought each groomsman something personal, though they were all sports related. DH is a big Boston Bruins fan so he got an autographed puck in a nice display case.

Similar thinking to a bridesmaid gift-think of what you would buy them as a birthday gift.

We did watches and gifted them in a nice wooden watch box that had a sentimental engraving on the outside. They all seemed to really love it. A gift card to a man-spa type of place might be nice too if you have one in your area. They seem to be popping up alot in my city...The Art of Shaving is a nice one that I know of that is a chain. They can get a full service shave from a barber...it's pretty much like a man-facial, lol. I've gifted it to my dad, uncles, our pastor/officiant and they've all loved it and gone back for other appointments.
