Groomsmen casual attire

Anna, on February 26, 2017 at 6:28 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

I had a vision of my bridesmaids being in a wine color. Davids bridal told me this color was discontinued. So I've decided on Apple. My fiancé wants to dress casual and his groomsmen casual too. He wants dark blue jeans, white under shirt and a vest (probably a brown linen color). I can't find pictures of these colors together on pinterest and I'm a visual person. Do these colors seem like they will go together? Any recommendations?

I hope it's not discontinued, that's the color I told my BM's to get! :/

It's definitely not discontinued! My girls have been ordering their Wine dresses the last week or two.

The dress doesn't go with jeans. I'd be really upset as a bridesmaid if I spent money to buy that dress (which is a great pick and a pretty color!), only to stand next to men that are wearing pants they wore to the bar last night.

If your bridesmaids are in semi formal dresses, the men should match in formality. Black pants or at the very least khakis with a white shirt and a vest that matches the pants would be fine. Jeans should only be paired with super casual sundresses if they must be worn at a wedding

    I agree with MrsSkiToBe.

That dress is way more dressy than jeans and a button down.

Dress the boys up, or dress the girls down.

(I love the dress, btw, I think its stunning, and would be beautiful, but your boys would have to wear slacks, not jeans.)

Completely agree with MrsSkiToBe. Also what type of style is your wedding? What is your venue? If your venue is a ballroom then jeans are a big no-no. If your wedding is in a barn you might be able to pull it off. Personally I feel jeans are not meant to be at any formal event regardless of how casual the event might be.

Jeans make me cringe. I just can't understand why you'd want your side of the bridal party to look amazing in those dresses and then the guys all dressed in jeans. I just don't think it looks good together and don't personal think jeans belong in a wedding party (90 percent of the time at least).

I think maybe asking the guys to get some nice slacks and a button down shirt with a tie? We are skipping vests all together (they remind me of prom and I don't like them) so the guys are wearing a suit jacket with matching slacks and then a white button down with a tie and pocket square.

Jeans are not appropriate for any wedding, imho. Especially not when the bridesmaids are wearing a cocktail dress.

Some slacks are just as comfortable as jeans.

I found this grooms attire on pintrest which falls under casual, but not jeans. Goes with the colors you are looking for Smiley smile

My dresses are in wine...sure hope it isn't really discontinued. I know who I will be calling today! Wine is a bit off from burgundy but was the closest I could find when I was looking at their swatches that went with what I was looking for.

I think what @Gabrielle posted it a good alternative! Still a bit casual with those dresses, but better.

I mean, if you guys are super country it could work... but I agree with pp, there are better ways to have them more casually dressed.
