Groomsmen Attire with Black Bridesmaid Dresses

Jaimie, on May 25, 2016 at 9:51 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17

Hi guys! We are doing black bridesmaid dresses and was thinking about doing grey with the guys-- thoughts? I didn't want it to look like a funeral so I thought maybe mixing it up with grey would look nice. Thanks!

If they had black ties on I think it would match nicely. I had to google it to see if it appealed and I like the picture below I found.

But for the record, I don't think them in black would make it look like a funeral either. It's your wedding. Smiley smile

I think grey would be nice as long as it isn't a really light grey. The picture above looks nice together. Are your girls dresses floor length?

I don't think all black would look like a funeral! Definitely do-able Smiley smile But I do have to say I'm really feeling the guys in grey like the picture that @mimitrue posted!

@WWLynnie me too!! Looking at both the pictures black on black and black on grey I think I am leaning towards the black on grey!

I agree with mimitrue - as long as the ties are black it should go nicely!

How does everyone feel about the first photo with black ties and then the groom in black? Would that look too tacky?

I dont think it will look funeral-ey once you add color. I assume bouquets will be colourful and accessories etc. Colourful ties etc?

My BMs wore black dresses. The GM wore black tuxes with red vests and ties.

I had black and black Smiley smile I though it looked nice. Punched it up with a bit of color in the accessories. The BM's bouquets were different shades of purple and the men wore plum/purple ties.

@VC yes! We have a lot of the fall colors in the flowers and fall foliage.
