Groomsman Passed Away

Lauren, on September 17, 2019 at 9:17 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5
Hey everyone! So one of my best friends groomsman passed away in a car accident the other night. Her and her fiancé want to ask his younger brother to take his place but are trying to come up with a super sweet way to ask him while including his brother...any ideas?

Depending on when the wedding is, they should consider waiting a little bit to ask him. If the loss was that recent, everyone needs time to process.

Is this friend Kaylee by chance? If not super weird seeing 2 posts from 2 people asking the same specific question.

Exactly what I was thinking. So odd!

Please don't replace a groomsman, especially one that died tragically and suddenly. I would still list him as a groomsman (in memorial) and just have the BM he owuld have been paired with walk alone or with another GM/BM pair.

I’m in the same situation. My sister(moh) and nephew (ring bear) we’re both killed in a car accident dec 10, 2018. I’m not not by any means replacing these 2 but I am having some one stand in their spots. My guys best friend was originally a groomsman but he will be standing in my sister spot as a man of honor and I’m having my sisters friend ( like a sister to me) become my matron of honor (originally bridesmaid). As well I’m having the matron of honor son be the ring bear. To honor him he will be wearing red chucks( nephews favorite color). The matron of honor will be wearing the exact same dress my sis would have worn. As well I’m having both the man of honor and matron of honor walk down isle together to do a tribute to both my sister and nephew before I come down.
