Groomsman gift ideas (not the usual flask)

Any groovy ideas for groomsmen gifts? I think FH wants to personalize this by buying each guy something he's personally interested in/needs/is a fan of, etc. which I think is cool. But any other ideas you've seen or used?

My FH bought his guys watches they can wear the day of the wedding. I think he intends to have them engraved on the inside. They are brown leather strap with a navy blue face to match their navy suits. I think he's also thinking about buying them the ties we want them to wear for the wedding.

My FH is thinking either engraved pocket knives or a personalized tool belt

@ecloetingh where did he find the watches from? Do you have a picture you could share?

I'm buying them all watches. They are all huge watch fans (:

Also I was thinking of a pilsner glass that will be sitting at the head table for them. Not sure because one guy doesn't really drink that often and I feel like it's a waste but the other 3 do drink.

How much are you willing to spend? We did engraved pocket watches and monogrammed cufflinks from Zales. They loved them.

Eh, I think it depends. I agree that you should always give personal items and we certainly did based on the person. But there were some items we gave to everyone. This is a know-your-crowd thing. Some men actually do use pocket watches (one of my bridesman, for instance, had one before the wedding, so he was happy to get a new one). But I agree that isn't a universal gift that all men would appreciate.

I 100000% agree with Richard. My husband doesnt even use most of that stuff. the only thing he would get use of is cufflinks and thats only because he wears french cuff shirts everyday of the week but ive never seen any other man do that.

My partner would never use any of that stuff either. He has two gorgeous watches I bought him....he never uses them. Flask?? Why? Pocketknives, not usually allowed into buildings or planes. Almost no man wears cuffflinks on a regular basis.

Mancrates are fantastic if you have the budget for them. I got my dad one for Christmas, he loved it. Plus, watching him attempt to open it was a hilarious gift to myself.

Thanks for the website for mancrates.com. That should make shopping easier for my dad's birthday.

FH and his friends play D&D often so he's planning to buy a glass flask-like thing filled with red liquid that mimics a health potion in most games. Both guys would love something like that and keep it propped up on their desks at work so I thought it was a good idea.

I agree with Richard. Same rules that apply to bridesmaids apply to groomsmen. If it's for the wedding, it's not a gift.
