Wishing Wells can be a collection of gifts with a theme. "spice wishing well" where every one brought a spice, "rainy day well" where people can give things that could be used towards a quiet night in, kitchen wishing welling: spoons, a canister set, magnets... you get the idea. So this could be a way for the groom to get stuff. He could go to BBB and register for guy stuff. You can decorate a basket to look like a "wishing well" and everyone puts their gifts inside.

Or there are wishing wells that can be rented. The gifts are usually small little things. that can fit inside.

Its the new way of making the groom "included" in the shower...you place a gift specific for the groom in it. I personally think it's bs, the gifts the bride receives are either for the household or they are lingerie and sex toys for the couple anyway.
