Groom's Tux, Who Goes to Pick Them Out?

It's just going to be FH and me. We would have asked his best man to come as well, but he lives in West Virginia and we're going shopping in Massachusetts.

So, how far before the wedding did you all start this process? We're 6.5 months out, should we be doing this now?? And the way that a lot of these responses are phrased, it sounds like you went with FH to get his, without the GMs...so I'm assuming FH goes back with the GMs later to get them matching or coordinating ones? I guess I always assumed that the groom got his at the same time as GMs, but I do like the idea of going just the two of us...

I always thought the groom picked out his and then all the groomsmen just went to get fitted but it was all picked out? Man I know nothing about this stuff....

We will be doing the GMs and FH suit shopping at the same time. I will be going because FH has trouble spending money and want them to look nice.

We went about 5 months before. We tried on Tuxes for FH and had him try on ones for the GM. We took pictures and showed them later that night. Then FH and some of his GM went to get measured for them. A couple still need to get measured.

He gets to pick his tux but i think I'll go along just to be sure he doesn't pick anything crazy.

I went with him and his groomsmen to pick out their tuxes.

FH is going. I know nothing about tuxes and suites. He, fortunately, loves to dress up and knows so much better than I do. We talked about it a little together, but I trust him.

FH and I went together last night. It was fun and nice to do together! He seemed to really just want my opinion.

We decided early on for bowties and suspenders so he really only needed to pick out a style of jacket. We went together because we did almost all wedding stuff together

@FutureMrs FH and I were thinking of going this weekend just to scope it out. He has no idea what he wants,so it may end up being a process. We also are really busy April and May so I figure getting a jump on it now will be good!

I don't know the true etiquette on this but I definitely want to go with FH, fashion is really not his forte.

We both liked the same tux from Men's Warehouse from the online pictures. A groomsman and I went with him to pick out all the accessories.

FH wanted me to go with him. It was a good time.

We went together. We wanted a grey tux and they only had two to choose from anyway.

I went with him because he wanted my opinion but he made the final decision.
