Grooms Tux match bridesmaid or should groomsmen?

I think it's more common for the GM to match the BM and FH to stand out, especially if he'd rather not match the BMs. Our GM are wearing royal blue vest and tie (the color of the BM dresses) and FH is wearing silver. I don't think you need to know your wedding colors in pictures of you two alone.

I love your avatar! Cute! We just went last week for my FHs choice of tux. He is matching me and the groomsmen are matching the bridesmaids. The girls are wearing plum so the guys will have a plum vest, tie and handkerchief. The groom will have an ivory handkerchief but black vest and tie.

All our guys were in black tuxes with the GM vests/ties matching the BMs and DH's vest/tie matching me. So BMs had chocolate dresses & ivory bouquets - GM had chocolate vests/ties with ivory boutonnieres. I had an ivory dress with red bouquet - DH had ivory vest/tie with red boutonniere.

That way everyone has some of our wedding colors (chocolate and cherry red), and the bridal party matches, and the bride/groom match! Make sense?

FH and I were just discussing this last night!!! I'm going to be in white and my BM in teal. He is going to be in a black tux/white shirt/black tie, and the GM are going to be in dark grey tuxes/white shirts/teal ties (no vests). We're also having a flower girl and ring GIRL who are going to match us... My 6 year old niece will be in a white and silver dress and boots... and her little sis will be in a black tuxedo dress and converse.

I'd agree with Allyson that it's more common for the groomsmen to match the bridesmaids and have FH wearing white or ivory accessories. That said, it's your wedding so if you want to do something different, I don't see a major problem.
