Groom's Suit - blue, grey, brown, help!

I can't stand brown suits. I told DH just please anything but a brown suit.

That being said; he wanted a "brighter" or lighter blue than navy and ended up with the below, which I thought looked great on everyone.

Are you having a formal wedding? If he wears a suit every day, why not wear a tux to the wedding? Nothing more classic and timeless than a black tux! Or maybe black tux pants with a dinner jacket in a different color, like white, or maroon, blue, gray... something like this sounds like it would work with your color scheme, and it's definitely not an everyday outfit.

Hi Elizabeth! I had a similar problem with FH. Mine wanted a green tux! 🤢 I wanted white, and we compromised on gray. We went together with FMIL to our appointment and I had swatches of my dress and my BM dresses and it helped the consultant help us choose. When you can both see things in person it really helps. Also other options are that you could have just him in brown and the GM in another color. Or you could get him a brown suit as a gift that he can wear for work and he can wear another color to the wedding. Just some thoughts! Hope this helps!

View Quoted Comment I'm glad y'all were able to compromise! Yeah I told him he should get a brown suit for work because it does look good on him,but maybe not the wedding and he didn't love that. He is super stuck on brown for some reason. Bringing along another person shopping could be helpful (could also backfire but maybe I'm in the wrong here!).

If it helps you, our ceremony started at 5:30pm. It was formal but not black tie, and my H still wore a tux.

FH went with a brighter blue. We’re getting married in the San Francisco courthouse & going for a comfortable vibe (he prob won’t wear a tie, I’m wearing sneakers under my dress). We had it custom made & the company we chose let’s you customize EVERYTHING on the suit. It cost the same as buying one from a national chain. With the customization, he was more involved designing his suit, than I was with my dress!

They must have had about 25 different blues, maybe they have a version of brown you both love!

Let him wear what he wants. You wouldn’t want him to pick your dress for you, would you? It’s his day too, I mean as long as it’s not hideous.
