Grooms ring help

Lynne, on June 25, 2019 at 8:25 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15
My FH just started his own business. He is doing general labor, moving...basically it's truck and muscle for hire.

I want to start looking at rings for him but I'm not sure what kind.

A silicone ring may be a good idea. They are inexpensive and good for physical labor jobs.

Yes, sounds like silicone might be best.

I suggested a silicone ring to my FH because he works with his hands too but he doesn't like them. He wants a titanium ring, so that’s what we’ll get. If you get a metal ring, just make sure it’s not a soft metal otherwise it could end up scratched up or even bent.

That's my fear that it will get bent or scratched

Titanium is strong but can get scratched up. Tungsten rings are supposed to be scratch proof, that might be a good option for metal.

We have a nice ring for the ceremony and non-physical activities. And silicon bands for when our hands get a lot of wear and tear, we’re actually bringing the silicon bands on our honeymoon and leaving the nice jewelry at home . It’s a nice way to get the best of both worlds

My BIL wears a tungsten ring; he’s a handy man and also works on AC units all the time and there are no scratches! Granted he’s only been married two years but it’s still good. FH also got a tungsten band because he lifts a lot and doesn’t want something that will scratch.

I got my FH a tungsten ring for the ceremony and special occasions. Then I also got him a silicone ring from enzo and had it engraved as that's the ring he will be wearing most of the time.

FH is in construction and we got him a Tungsten. We still have a while to go so I can't give first-hand experience but we chose it based on reviews from other hands-on workers.

H has a tungsten ring for "dress" occasions and then the rest of the time he wears silicone.

You have to be careful with tungsten and hands-on professions, because it can't be cut off if something happens to his hands/fingers (just an fyi)

My FH got one made from zirconium. It is as strong as titanium and non corrosive and a bit cheaper than titanium. It has a koa wood inlay too and I think he spent like $130 on it. My BIL is in the army and when he and my sister got married, he used a regular white gold ring (which my sister wears on a chain) and he uses a silicone one to wear when he works.
