Groom's cake? Surprise?

My groom helped pick his cake. We ordered it Saturday and it will not be that much. I believe it serves 20-30 people so will be $20-$30. She charges a dollar per serving.

I am doing a surprise grooms cake It will be presented at the wedding, next to the wedding cake. It will look like his F250 (his baby). It costs $250 for 35 servings, and is regular white cake with lemon buttercream.

Some people surprise the groom with it, some people have him choose it. Just depends on what you want to do! My FH isn't a big cake fan, but adores sugar cookies. So our baker is going to make sugar cookies that I am surprising FH with,..haven't decided if they will be for the rehearsal dinner or reception. But they are good size cookies, and they are $1 each.

How much the groom's cake runs you will depend on what you want the cake to look like, if it requires fondant or not, how many servings it will cost, and where you order it.

We made our wedding cake the groom's cake - it will have a dragon curling around it. It's going to cost around $500 due to the details of the dragon, servings, etc.

I decided to do a surprise groom cake and am waiting on the quote from my cake lady...hopefully no more than $200. He is obsessed with breakfast foods so this is perfect. (Probably pumpkin chocolate chip cake with cream cheese inside)

He is also obsessed with chocolate chip cookies, so our dessert table will be all different varieties of chocolate chip cookies,

I think it usually is a surprise, yes, but FH is designing and having his own made. we weren't even going to do one, but i encouraged him to because he's pretty nerdy and we are having a mostly traditional wedding. i wanted him to be able to have full design reign on something. haha.
