Grooms Attire Struggle

I'm sorry, but that suit is a hot mess. The shawl lapel is meant for a tuxedo, the vest is unnecessary, and it's way too accessorized. If you simplify your groom's attire by asking him to wear an actual suit, he may be more inclined. Have him try a slim or classic cut light or medium grey suit with a point or notch lapel and white dress shirt. He can wear a patterned bowtie or regular tie in your colors for whimsy. He will be wearing a boutonnière so those doo-dads can be eliminated. He is your groom so while you want your vision to match, he should be in it with a smile, too. Good luck.

What are the groomsmen wearing? I found this awesome website when I googled "grooms attire country wedding" grooms country wedding I love the dark/black jeans with the brown vests. There's no "rule" stating guys HAVE to wear tuxes/jackets! I had a beach wedding, so that was WAY off the table. You are smart to want to make sure everyone - especially your FH - is comfortable!! He doesn't like traditional suits so I was trying to find something different. None of the accessories came with it. It was only the jacket pants and vest. I don’t think gray would match all the browns in our decor but I am open. We are also probably doing bolo (western ties). I forgot to mention he wants to wear boots.

Guys are so funny. I honestly don’t see how well-tailored suit pants aren’t as comfortable as jeans lol. I think either a textured gray or even a navy could look nice with your color scheme. And if he wants to go more casual than a suit, a compromise could be slacks with either suspenders or a vest. We’re using Knotty Tie to customize FH and his party’s accessories, which has a bajillion customization options and matches to Azazie and David’s Bridal. So then you could go with a standard color for the slacks and add accessories to get a splash of color that matches the bridesmaids.

Based on the color palette you shared, I think gray suits would work just fine with your colors! I would have him visit a store in-person and try on several different options. Having a professional listen to his wants and concerns could be really beneficial in finding an option he likes and feels good in.

I like bolo ties and sport coats. The Beck brothers on "Yellowstone" looked very money with jeans. Maybe a Western tan or brown sport coat and blue jeans? Here, are some ideas (not sure if he'll wear a hat).

I've seen Cavender's in Nevada, but I'm sorry I'm not an expert. I would look up "Western sport coat" so you find options with that signature yoke at the chest. I think custom can be done as well so maybe Etsy. But, perhaps ask well-dressed gentlemen in your neighborhood for where they shop local. Good luck!

Gray is a neutral and goes with your color palette perfectly well. I'm personally not a big brown fan when it comes to men's suits and don't think jeans are ever appropriate for a wedding but that's me.

I agree with the sports coat with jeans. Any big department store (Macy’s, etc.) sell them.

If you're both open to it, you might find something nice at a resale shop. You'd only need to find the jacket. A sport coat will differ from a suit in that the fabric is sturdier, heavier and less prone to wrinkling, that is why it pairs well with jeans. Look for how it fits at the shoulders (from the back), arm length, and jacket length. Your groom should feel like a new man when it fits just right-- something about the sharp shoulders makes the posture right. Good luck.

We did a lot of orange shades and green for our wedding with a little bit of burgundy accents. Very similar to your colors. My girls wore shades of orange and my husband wore a burgundy suit we ordered. The groomsmen wore grey which went well against his suit and the orange tones so I think grey could definitely be an option. I didn’t think it would work until I saw everything together

View Quoted Comment I couldn’t either! Lol. It’s hard to imagine sometimes. See if you can get fabric examples in colors you like to hold together. It might help. We stuck with these colors for attire and then added green in with some of our decor
