Groom Walking Down the Aisle Too?

Mrs. Bauer, on September 22, 2014 at 2:29 PM Posted in Planning 1 20

FH and I had our final planning meeting with our venue/day of coordinator yesterday, and he decided that he wants him and his groomsmen to walk down the aisle as well...so now I'm trying to think of songs for them to do this to.

Is your FH walking down the aisle, too, and if so, to what song??

FH will be escorted down the aisle with his parents, after the grandparents and my mom/stepdad

My FH is walking down the aisle. I think he will seat his mom but not 100% sure on that one yet.

FH will walk down the aisle after the officiant, who will walk down after mothers are sat, this will all happen to the same song, though (Bach's Unaccompanied Cello Suite 1)

It is just annoying trying to find a song for them to walk down to. He doesn't want it to be a mushy love song, but yet doesn't offer up much guidance than that.

I'm dreading having to pick ceremony music. I have no idea where to even begin!

He is walking down with me and we are walking to "I want to hold your hand." It's literally the only song we have decided on so far.

My husband walked down the aisle with his best man by his side. They had the same music as the bridal party - "How Beautiful" by Twila Paris.

My FH will be walking down to "Come to Me" by the Goo Goo Dolls. :-)

"Today's the day I make you mine, so get me to the church on time". We love this song! Not sappy at all.

I sent him The Lord of the Rings song done by The Piano Guys as an option, but he didn't seem to really like it...so back to the drawing board.

Who knew that choosing the music would be one of the most difficult tasks?

Oh, and are y'all doing instrumental versions of these songs, or the versions with the actual words? Our DJ said that most people just do instrumental, but I had been planning on the ones with words...

I still can't decide! Right now he and his groomsmen will enter from the side, I'm actually not sure when. Maybe at the same time as the mothers being walked in. I want him to walk down the aisle but he is hung up on how he and his parents will walk together. Will your FH be in the middle with his dad holding onto one of his arms??? or will his mom be in the middle holding both her men's arms??? please tell me because if I can get a good answer for him maybe we can shift his entrance.

FH is walking with his best man and his father/officiant. Its going to be the Jaws theme and the beginning of Another One Bites the Dust. Its our way of adding a little humor (so us) to a serious occasion.

We were going to have a big long processional with our officiant, FH, GM, MOH, parents, grandparents... and then I realized I'm paying for a petal scatter design and only I can walk down the aisle haha.

FH's parents actually aren't coming to the wedding, so I have no advice for you on that one, Suzanne.

My mom is in a wheel chair, so she doesn't want to go down the aisle. So we were always planning on having the family preseated prior to the ceremony started (this would have been the case even if FH's parents were coming).

If you're having a DJ for the ceremony, ask for suggestions. They usually have a huge list of appropriate music. I picked the processional music for my BMs and me, as well as the recessional song, but otherwise I left it up to our DJ and he did a great job.

We are doing the songs with the actual words, because that's what make them special to us. Smiley smile

I'm all in favor of having the groom walk too. Weddings are about people joining as equals these days. I also love some of these arrangements: http://weddings.gatheringguide.com/ac/all-about-you/who-walks-whom-down-the-aisle

FH is walking down the aisle too. The processional music for everyone but me will be Christmas in Sarajevo by TSO. Now that some of you mentioned parents I will have to talk to him about if he wants them preseated, walking with him or walking some other way.
