Groom outfit for summer/bride outfit for cool nights

Marie, on February 12, 2021 at 4:39 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Hi everyone, we are getting married this summer. At the place where the wedding will be, the day is normally really hot (30 C/86 F) and the evenings quite cool. We will try to make it as outdoors as possible due to covid19 (weather permitting, not possible to put a tent there) so I am wondering about outfits.

My wedding dress will be strapless ballgown so I would need something to put over in the evening perhaps, any ideas, what did you ladies wear?

Also for my FH, any ideas on how to wear a formal attire and NOT be boiling in the day Smiley laugh We would like to have formal attire so no beach/casual suits. I've read on many fashion websites that apparently wearing a vest without a jacket is a big no no. I have also thought about him simply buying two identical shirts and changing after he sweats in the first one during the day Smiley laugh

I would definitely do the risible shirt idea as I am someone who sweats A LOT. Linen is a very breathable summer fabric that you would great for him to wear. If you can you can get a tent and use outdoor air conditioning. You can opt for a second dress if your budget allows. DB is having a huge sale rn. A lot of dresses under 100-500$. I’d also check out Asos, Cocomelody, Stillwhite, Nearlynewlywed, Preownedweddingdress (they have nee dresses as well) and Etsy if you want to go the second dress route.

Agree with the previous person- get that 2nd shirt for your FH. My fiancé is wearing a suit & after the ceremony, pictures, entrances etc, he will be taking off his jacket & just be wearing his shirt, vest & tie.

What about a faux fur wrap for you and a linen suit for the groom. Linen suits are very light and very breathable

For you, you could always layer a denim or plaid shirt over for the nights. Something that's not crazy heavy but will keep you warm if it's cooler out. Or a jean jacket. A girl I know who just got married this past November in Myrtle Beach layered with a jean jacket with her new last name on it and it was really cute!

For him, what are your colors? Is it more of a comfort thing or does he sweat through a lot? Because one idea you COULD do, but I don't know how wild you'd be about this with a summer wedding...he could wear a black shirt so the sweat doesn't show. Otherwise, I'd suggest bringing a second shirt for him just in case.

Thanks, yeah that sounds good with changing shirts and putting on a vest to be more formal, I am also thinking that it is okay that he changes to a vest later although everyone has said that vest can't be worn without a jacket. He'll just have to find a vest that looks nice without a jacket!

This is the style we got- the vest matches the pants which are a charcoal color. My fiancé & groomsmen are wearing the darker color & our dads are wearing the lighter ones. Ties & pocket squares will be burgundy or red Groom outfit for summer/bride outfit for cool nights 1

To Jessica, thanks for the suggestion for linen!
I am not a fan of faux fur and it won't be thaaat cold, but this idea from Allie with a denim/jean jacket sounds really good! I am wearing an ivory ballgown with some silver details so it is hard to find a lace top which would match with colour, but with a denim I guess it is kind of "It's cool that it doesn't match"! I am already imagining denim with white or silver Mrs Newname on it!

Btw, I'm not a native speaker of English so I don't know what is a plaid shirt? Smiley winking
