Groom nervous about pictures.

Maybe Have the photographer give you a little time when you first see each other or first start pictures of the two of you to just be together and talk and hug or whatever you do before he/she starts having you do poses and whatnot. That way you can chat and make him laugh and hopefully he will loosen up a bit.

A shot and talk to your photographer. I know your date is coming up, did you take engagement pictures with this photographer? I would at least meet with them beforehand so your FH will be more comfortable.

I second liquor. I think our photographer is going to keep talking to us and asking us questions to get our natural reactions to things, as my FH is not a huge photo person.

Engagement pictures for sure help with this and a couple of drinks will help as well. The more comfortable and friendly he is with the photog, the easier it will be.

I'm not sure on advice for your FH, but you could ask your photographer for more "candid" style shots and photos where he isn't looking at the photographer (looking at you, or off into the distance, etc.) If FH isn't paying attention to the camera, he might feel more at ease. Good luck!

I highly encourage that all talking about how he takes pictures stop. No coaching, no practicing, nothing. Let the photographer guide both of you.

It's like when a parent coaches their child to "smile" and then gets mad when the child does exactly as they are told when being photographed.

Let your photograph handle him and decide what approach would be best.
