Anybody else out there who's FH wants to or insists on wanting to wear white to match you? Is this a current trend? Is it out of ordinary? Anybody else out there who's FH wants to or insists on wanting to wear white to match you? Is this a current trend? Is it out of ordinary? I know the bride in white tradition began in 19th century due to the high value of the fragile white fabrics. So, white means purity? ...but both of us already lost virginity to each other nearly a year ago.

My grandmother, who is quite sophisticated, hopes to be there and we are already doing a few wacky things such as converse. This may be the last trip she makes (if she is there) so is it disrespectful to veer from strict rules of tradition? When I talk to my mother, she acts like she believes this is black-tie, but it is semi-formal.

As for the coats, we think it looks nice without coats for the GM, but my mother is having a fit about it. It will be outdoors, midday, on a hill top, where it is often windy. There is no way of us knowing if it will be 60 or 90. BM dresses are short satin.

Feedback welcome.

I like white tuxes and we had originally planned on FH to wear one but he decided he would be too worried about it getting dirty so he changed his mind to a classic black tux.

It's a matter of taste and what you and FH want Smiley smile
