Groom Growing Up Montage Song

Tiffany, on April 22, 2017 at 12:34 PM Posted in Planning 0 20

What male vocalist song should I play for the groom's growing up montage song? Online lists appear to be only soft songs or country which wouldn't work for him. Trying hard not to run with Eye of the Tiger (his current preference).

Honestly these are so cheesy I feel like eye of the tiger would totally work!

I don't like these videos either, but if you are doing one, it should be a song your FH chooses, not us.

I think you should scrap it. No one enjoys watching these.

I must be in the minority because I actually think that all the ones I've seen have been cute! (As long as they're not crazy long)

I'm not sure of a song recommendation because it seems odd to me to have a whole song just of him growing up. How many songs are you going to have total?

Honestly we go for a drink and bathroom break when these are going on. If you really want to do one please do a combined one that's under 2 minutes. Anything passed that and you have lost the crowd.

I like them. Keep it playing in the background or something if you won't want to make people stop what they're doing to watch. Then those who are interested can see it.

I really enjoy the videos at weddings! Love how you're looking for song advice and people are telling you to not even do a video. SMH

Don't do this. These types of videos work best at funerals.

If you insist on torturing your guests then it should be a song he chooses from his childhood. And only 30 secs of that song haha.

Thanks to social media with #throwbackThursday and #flashbackFriday posts, I don't need to see more pics of you at your wedding in the form of a slideshow. I've been to tons of weddings since the social media explosion, and I haven't seen a montage video at a wedding since. The last wedding I went to that had a montage was in 1999.

I'm not really a fan of these either and we're incorporating pictures from our time together throughout the venue instead. But since you're looking for suggestions, I would say Forever Young by Bob Dylan. But maybe that's because I was a huge Parenthood fan...

My cousin and his bride went with Avenged Sevenfold's "Dear God" for his growing up montage because the take-away message from Bryan and Kiera's wedding was finding each other again after years apart (high school sweethearts who reunited in their late 20s). I like Eye of the Tiger, though, and if it's his preference I think it may be a good choice.

Don't know if it helps, but wishing you happy planning and a happier married life!

I love the slideshows at weddings! They are one of my favorite parts. I haven't thought about accompanying music, though. Eye of the Tiger sounds funny, especially if you love 80s music or movies.

Seriously. Who is searching for groom wedding song montages just to post against doing one? Either jokers or people that have been tasked against their will to create one. Personally I enjoy the videos but yes think anything over 4-5 min is gonna push it. Some people will like it and some won't but honestly those who don't can shove it.

I'm sorry I didn't mean to inconvenience you by taking months of my time to plan a party to which you'll probably forget to RSVP by the deadline, dance like a Dad, end up hammered, not to mention break or steal something. Just remember to eat your free meal, drink your free booze, and wolf down handfuls of cake like you are trying to audition for Heavyweights. But please while all this is going one don't forget to chime in about those 5 min you want back because of the slideshow. I'm sure it will be much better served talking to the person next to you about your dog or kids digestive problems.

Awful Beautiful Life is alright for song choice. But guessing your wedding already happened.

I am just commenting to say I LOVE photo/video montages! I haven’t seen one in a long time, but I really love watching them. I’d go for Eye of the Tiger lol! And if someone doesn’t want to watch it they can go on eating their dinner and look away. I’ve always seen them played sometime during the dinner time.

LITERALLY NEED HELP WITH THE SAME THING! Looking for a song for the groom’s childhood to present. Not understanding why people are hating on the montage deal. You have your own wedding. No need to judge someone else’s day and their decisions. Right??
