Groom Gift?

My fiance isn't one for fancy expensive watches or I'd have bought him one too! We are sort of just getting ourselves a gift, rather than individual things. We'll likely buy a really, really nice bottle of scotch to enjoy.

In our families and social circles the couple doesn’t gift each other anything beyond vows and rings. Extra gifts such as watches, etc don’t have a place. But do what works for you.

We did not get each other gifts. The wedding and honeymoon were our gifts to each other. We didn't really see the point in spending more money for no particular reason. I think the gift giving tradition dates back to when arranged marriages were more common and the bride had never met the groom before.

I got my husband a gift moreso to be funny - it was socks that said "in case you get cold feet"

I'm making him a gift box that has a journal I've been writing in throughout our engagement with each entry starting with "Dear Future Husband". I also found a cute card on Etsy that says "to my groom on our wedding day" that I'll tuck in there. I'm doing a bridal boudoir shoot (mostly for me and because I'm obsessed with my photographer) but I plan on putting one or two of those shots in there as well. He likes watches and but won't wear anything too fancy, so I was thinking of either getting him a new one to match his suit/outfit and engraving our wedding day on it, or getting on of his existing ones engraved. I may give him everything but the card the day after our wedding, so all our guests are gone and I can write one last entry in the journal that says "Dear Husband" about our wedding day!
