Groom Gift- boudoir shoot?

Preslee, on August 15, 2018 at 9:32 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 18

What did y'all (if anything) do for your groom gift the day of? I'm thinking about doing a boudoir shoot and making a photo book for the day of, but its SUPER out of my comfort zone. Did anyone do this? If so, recommend?

Also, who gives it to him the day of? His groomsmen and him are getting ready at our house and I'll be at my parents house with my bridesmaids so how would he get it?

Thanks!

Talk to a boudoir photographer and see if you're okay with it. They can accommodate different comfort levels. If you are, give it to him that night of the wedding! (He doesn't need to be thinking of that while trying to get wedding photos done 😂). If you're not, there are a million other things you could do. For our anniversary I gave my fiance a date night box with 12 envelopes, which had a date night planned and paid for by me, and a disposable camera to take pics of each date. When it's finished we'll print the pics and it's a keepsake we'll love forever.

I'm talking to one now and looking through her stuff and its SO tasteful and her studio is gorgeous. I think thats a good idea but I definitely want to give it to him the morning of the wedding! That's SUCH an adorable idea, I love the dates planned.

I’m doing one & I am also giving him a keepsake of his dad & a love letter. I don’t have any advice (sorry lol) as I haven’t done one yet. However, if you utilize the search bar there are many posts (some very recent) of other nervous brides saying how they didn’t regret it after! I would say just relax, & maybe have a coctail beforehand (I know a few of the ones I looked into provided champagne or mimosas). Some provide clothing but you can also bring your own lingerie or an oversized shirt of your husband’s.

I was going to have mine put in a bag or special box & have my moh or coordinator deliver it. He’ll receive instructions not to open it in front of everyone.

Okay perfect! My MOH could totally do it as our homes aren't far apart, and having instructions not to open in front of everyone is a great idea!!

Hey!! I’ve been thinking of doing this too!! If I were you I’d wrap it up and leave it on your dresser or his dresser. With an envelope and what not. That way, the guys can’t open it since it’s wrapped

I did one awhile ago for me, before I was with my fiance and I loved it! It was so fun. We are going to do a couple's boudoir shoot right before the wedding. I'd suggest giving it to him in private the night before, so he isn't opening a personal gift in front of his friends and family.

FutureMrsD, I'd give him a note that said open in private! I definitely wouldn't want him opening in front of everyone

I didn't do a boudoir shoot but did gift DH something the day of. I ordered an etched/monogrammed whiskey glass and bought a nice bottle of bourbon. I wrapped everything together and included a note that said "I can't wait to officially toast you as Mr. and Mrs. Henderson - until then, enjoy a nice glass of bourbon with the guys. I love you. See you at 6:00!" My matron of honor took it over to him, and he sent back my gift with her. Hope this helps!

I'm doing a VERY tasteful boudior shoot in the bridal suite of the old mansion where we will spend our wedding night. The hotel manager is helping me. The photographer will bring the wrapped gift to the manager, I'll have already left a card, and it'll be in our honeymoon suite waiting for us to arrive and a total surprise for my new hubby. I'm a bit nervous, had a kidney removed and that area isn't back to normal, and won't be for awhile. Doesn't look toned and a big, ugly red scar. We'll see. My photographer is wonderful.

It was very out of my comfort zone as well, but I did one for myself to celebrate my divorce. The photographer gave me some suggestions before hand of wardrobe etc and put me very at ease the day of. I say, go for it!

My shoot is Saturday and I'm SO excited! We haven't made final plans yet for where we'll be staying the night before. If we stay together the night before, I'll probably give it to him the wedding night. If I get a room, I'll probably give it to him right before we go our separate ways.

I did a boudoir shoot with a photographer almost a month ago and she was so wonderful and helpful. She's all about building your confidence and doing what's comfortable for you. I didn't like all the shots I got, but that's because I don't like my body all that much. However I loved the overwhelming majority of them, and hadn't seen myself in that light before. I'd highly recommend.

I made a little photo book and will give it to him on our wedding night when we get home. I also got him a personalized compass which is related to a running thing of ours. I don't know if I'll give this to him at the rehearsal dinner to have him open the next day or not.

I also took a few pictures in a blow up t-rex costume with some lingerie on top of it to put in the back of the book as a joke, so don't be afraid to be a little silly too if you want!

I had a boudoir photoshoot and my photographers worked with my comfort level. I kept to lingerie that I felt comfortable in and I had a lot of fun with it. You can still look sexy and beautiful in lingerie that covers you up. I wore a variety of babydolls since I'm self-conscious about my tummy and I had an outfit wearing a corset and thigh-high stockings. I'm having an album made along with a "travel size" photobook and I plan to give it to him on our wedding night Smiley laugh

Ooo I'm doing one next weekend! Very excited, a little nervous. Honestly it started out as an idea for my fiancée, but honestly it's become more and more something I'm doing for myself.
