Groom attire

Annette , on October 4, 2019 at 10:50 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14
Hey all! What did your grooms wear to stand out? We only have a matron or honor and a best man, and the colors are navy, rose and gold. My matron of honor is going to be in a rose red dress and my fiancé and his brother are going to be in navy ties. My fiancé wants to wear something different than his best man but I don’t really know what to do. My aunt already made the boutonnières to match the navy ties so I don’t want to change the color of their ties. My fiancé keeps mentioning for either him or his best man to wear a navy shirt but I hate how that looks with a black suit... I thought men were easy to dress haha. Any suggestions?? Thanks!

Inner vest, or change the color or type of his tie.

The groomsmen/bridesman worn black tuxes with a white shirt, red ties, vests and pocket square. The best man had a different colored pocket square as his was silver and then my husband with a silver tie, vest and pocket square. Traditionally the groom is supposed to wear white to match the bride, but I didn't like the white tie on a white shirt so we went with silver for him since that was one of our accent colors. Originally, I had him wearing a black tie and black vest, but he thought it was too much black. Other than changing your husband's tie I don't have much suggestions.

My handsome husband in the center! He had an elk lapel pin & a slightly different tie. The groomsmen ties were sky blue solid, and his was a different blue in paisley.Groom attire 1

My groom is actually wearing an ivory tux jacket. His guys will all be wearing the exact same one in black. I personally hate all the different colors mixed (but that's just MY preference). My girls are wearing gold sequined dresses, and our colors are gold, red, and ivory (Christmas wedding). So the only color that will be on the boys are the red boutonnieres.

FH will have a white base tie with plaid teal/plum on it whereas the GM will have a solid color tie. FH will also have a colored boutonniere to match my bouquet while the GM will just have a solid white one.

My wedding party attire is more casual with the groomsmen in white shirts with gray vests and a wine tie with dark jeans and FH wanted to wear black shirt, tie and vest with jeans

FH is wearing an Ivory tie and pocket square to match my dress, as well as a white boutonniere while his groomsmen are wearing burgundy ties with the navy tuxes and burgundy boutonnieres (navy/burgundy/rose scheme). A white tie wouldn't force you to change the boutonniere color. A bow tie vs. a regular tie is always an option as a bow tie is typically seen as more formal.

That's my groom's tux. My dress is ivory, he originally wanted a white tux.

He's wearing the Ivory Dawson and then my groomsmen are wearing the Black Chandler. The groomsmen will also have a different colored vest (we have a HP wedding so we have red, green, blue, and yellow for their vest colors) and my bridesmaids match the color of the groomsmen vests -- per who they're walking with.

FH plans to get a white/cream/ivory linen suit for our wedding since it's gonna be on the beach. But I don't think he's even gotten it yet so . . . We're not having a wedding party exactly but my sister is my MOH, my brother will be my escort and I actually have no idea what he plans to wear Smiley ups FH hasn't said anything about a BM so I'm not sure if there even is one. (Is this crazy of me?) Our colors are plum, lavender and gray/silver.

My dress is champagne with ivory lace overlay. Ivory wasn't even on our radar but navy did not match our colors at all and fiance wasn't crazy about wearing black so when we saw it, it just felt right. The boys will be wearing the Bond (which is just like the Dawson, but black). None of them will be in vests, and all ties will be black. My girls are wearing gold sequined dresses.

Thanks everyone!! So we didn’t even think about pocket squares. Our bridal party is just my sister as maid of honor and my fiancé’s brother as best man. My sister will be in a red dress and we did toss around the idea of the best man wearing a red tie instead of navy to match my sister and then my fiancé’s tie will be navy. But my aunt already made the boutonnières, and they match navy ties. So they will both be in navy ties. My fiancé doesn’t like the idea of a navy shirt with a white vest and white tie. Apparently he hates white vests lol. So he is going to wear a white shirt and navy tie and a white picket square and the best man will not have a pocket square, so they’ll be a little different

My Fiance wanted to wear the same as his boys BUT he will have a different tie color (I don't know if he knows this yet). He will have a blush tie and hanky thingy and all his boys will have navy to match bridesmaids and officiant will have a white tie. My dad will be in a darker gray suit but will be in navy as well tie wise to match my mom.
