Groom and Flower Girl dance

Alyssa , on April 6, 2018 at 8:35 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6

Hi,

I have this idea for the wedding and I was wondering if you had any good ideas for songs. One of my flower girls is a 2 year old that I babysit. My fiancé has become head over heels for her. He loves her. And she’s just as in love with him. Her grandma is raising her and her brother and their father is not in her life. My fiancé is pretty much the main positive male role model in her life. I wanted to surprise him with a song dedicated to him from the flower girl. I’m having trouble finding a good song for it. Do you have any ideas?

I think it would be sweet, but I wouldn't have a dance for them alone if you are already having a father/daughter and mother/son dance. That would be a long stretch for your guests and if he has any nieces, I wouldn't want their feelings to be hurt. He could easily dance with her during the reception with a song dedicated to her. Be sure and alert the photographer!

Also, you can shorten the songs (just ask the band or DJ... they do it for weddings all the time)... because it is a long stretch. 2 mins max is all you need for each song. Also, two minutes can be a long time with a 2 year old. I got married three weeks ago and 2 minutes with my hubby and then 2 more with my dad felt long.

for a song to dance with the flower girl, maybe they dance for a minute and then you invite other people to join for the rest of the song (especially if there are other kids and parents)... just prep friends and family ahead of time, and the DJ can encourage people.

    good songs:
    Jack Johnson - Banana Pancakes
    Stevie Wonder- Isn’t She Lovely
The Beatles - Blackbird (this must be in a kids movie now because my nieces sing it all the time)
Stand By Me, My Girl, or another similar Motown Hit
Elton John- Can You Feel the Love Tonight
    Tom Petty- Wildflowers
    Rainbow Connection from the Muppets

does she have a favorite Disney movie that makes her light up? Maybe a song she would recognize from the movie?
