Greeters, Singers, Servers at Rehearsal Dinner

CM, on August 26, 2015 at 11:46 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 2

There are 2 greeters, 2 ushers, 2 ring bearers, 1 flower girl, Singers (family friends), the singers 2 children - that have now been made servers. Rehearsal dinner is a pretty swanky restaurant - do all these need an invitation to the dinner? What about the parents of the flower girl and ring bearers? We will have a cocktail hour then sit down dinner. We are wondering if we can have someone take the kids back to the hotel for hamburgers, chicken fingers, etc. Is that appropriate? What about the flower girl and ring bearers parents? HELP!!

If you are expecting them to attend the rehearsal, they should be invited to the dinner (plus spouse/SO or parents in the case of the kids). If you are not expecting them to attend the rehearsal, you don't technically *have* to invite them to the dinner (although it's definitely better to do so if you can - think of the rehearsal dinner as a thank you to the people who have agreed to take part in your wedding).

Yes these people should all be invited to your rehearsal dinner (including the parents of the kids who I assume will be at the rehearsal to help supervise their children). I'm sure you can ask the parents of the young kids if their kids would RATHER go back to the hotel for fun food, but I would pitch it to them as an idea that the kids might like better, instead of trying to exclude them or save money.
