One thing I really wanted to be able to do for our cocktail hour, is serve a grazing table/large charcuterie board that I made myself! My friends and I LOVE making charcuterie boards and as silly as it sounds, I take a good deal of pride in them for parties/girl's nights as it is. I thought it would be a really cool photography moment to create this board the morning of the wedding while my bridesmaids are having HMU done - just by myself with my pajamas on.

When we planned on having a large wedding, our venue didn't allow any outside food. So I wasn't going to be able to create my own grazing table. But with our new venue, they're more than okay with it! Yay!

My mom and fiancés mom think I won't want that pressure on me the day of the wedding - which I could see. But I think it may be a form of stress relief, honestly. I'm only having 75 people at our wedding so I can't imagine this table would take longer than an hour or so to make. I really enjoy making these and think it will be a really cool detail and staple for the reception that I made it myself.

Married brides, how stressful was your morning of? Will I regret this or should I go for it in hopes it eases any day-of stress I may have!?

I agree with your mom. You will likely not have time to create a charcuterie board the morning of your wedding. I love charcuterie boards at cocktail hours in non-pandemic times, but I don't think this would be a wise decision during Covid. Your wedding is listed as being in September, and that seems like way too soon to safely serve a charcuterie board.

LOVE your thoughts on this. I think a trial run would be smart and super fun! As much preparation as possible would be super helpful the day of! Thanks so much!

My biggest concern! Especially with you starting the night before!!

I think starting on it early, like the night before, will probably be my best bet and letting the caterers finish! Thank you!

Yikes, didn't even consider the juices or sauce that would need to be fresh!

Very true! My MOH reminded me that nothing is super candid on your wedding day LOL. It may end up being staged all together! Hiring someone to do it all together actually sounds nice! Thanks girl!

If we aren't able to have a restriction free wedding, we will elope! We are planning these details with the hopes that we can have the wedding we envision - but if we aren't able to, we won't have it! We would rather go to the courthouse than spend thousands of dollars on a wedding we have to plan around safety restrictions! Thank you!!!

My wedding day began at 11 am at our venue for my 6:30 pm ceremony time. I arrived at 11am, checked in and grabbed some breakfast (venue was a restaurant with a ballroom). The bridal suite was available for me all day long. I had 1 hair girl and 1 make up girl, they did hair and make up for myself, my mother and my sister. My plan was to go down to the hall about 1/2 way through my hair and make up process and put up table numbers and some candles as well as check out the flowers that my florist would have dropped off. My hair and make up girls arrived at 11:30 and started setting up, meanwhile we ate breakfast and hung up our dresses and left everything out to get ready. My hair girl wanted to get curlers on me first so I was immediately sat down for at least an hour while she curled my hair and put rollers in, I planned to go down after this and my make up girl wanted to start the prep process for my face and get it moisturized and primed. By the time I caught a break it was around 4pm and I only had time to go down look at my flowers and cake and run back up stairs to finished getting ready. Luckily my aunt and cousin were with us and they helped finalize the decorations in the ballroom. At 5:50 pm we realized the time and started running around to put on my dress and all it came with as well as final touches for make up and hair. It was only 3 of us and hair and make up takes time. Food for thought lovely!

Wow thank you for this! I have 12 bridesmaids so this is super helpful with time! We will have from about 8AM to 4PM when we have to be ready for pictures. But my gosh, that time will definitely speed by with that many people to get ready!! My photographer gave me a little timeline that gave me some hope, she said I wouldn't have my hair and makeup done until around 2 so it would be fresh for pictures and ceremony. But based on others, it doesn't look like those hours will be free by any means! Thanks so much gal!

Of course!! There is so much unknown for the day of that the better you plan the better you will be! I worked on my timeline with my dj and venue and gave my photographer that timeline. Out of everyone the DJ had us on schedule the whole night. You have to allow for extra time incase something happens, my sister had a facial peel about 8 days before my wedding although she was almost healed she still had some peeling on her chin and parts of her face that appeared more after make up application so she had to wash of her face, exfoliate and start the process over. Also you're getting ready for your big day with your closest and you start reminiscing and talking and taking some pictures and time just zooms past you. Best of luck doll!

I got married pre-pandemic, and I do NOT know where I would have found the time! I was busy from the moment I woke up until we left the wedding

While I was very chill and had little to do morning of, I would NOT suggest this. (We also deliberately scheduled a later wedding.)

    1. Food safety issues

    2. How long is the wait between when you make it, and when it will be eaten?

    3. If you're having an early morning, think about how long it will take to make one and DOUBLE it, because the early morning means everyone will think you are free to answer questions.

    4. That's just one extra thing to worry about and get up early for, when you're going to want extra rest and less stress!
