Gratuity For the Janitor?

Sharay, on June 16, 2019 at 2:05 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5
I had a meeting at our venue and we have paid her in full but every time We go back they seem to add extra fees for something that’s not in the contract. Like did you guys give gratuity for the Janitors that cleaned the bathrooms at your wedding venue?? Sounds ridiculous to me. I will tip the waiters, bartenders, and the young men handling the vallet parking because that makes sense. But did you all tip the cook, janitors and the person that owned the venue after already paying them? When u go eat at a restaurant I don’t go looking for the person cleaning the bathroom and go hey here’s a tip! You know? Thank you if you even take the time to read this. 🙏🙏

Yeah, you don't tip the venue owner, and I have never heard of tipping the janitor. If it isn't in the contract, you aren't obligated to pay it. That's the point of the contract. It explains the terms of the deal.

Unless it is part of the contract, no. But it is a nice thing to do.

Unless it is not part of your contract you don’t have to pay. I mean I have heard of tipping cleaning and room service. Double read the contract make sure it is not in there.

It's not part of the contract so I'm confused as to why they keep adding more fees....something sounds fishy.

That’s unusual if it’s not in the contract. If they keep adding fees, you need to bring it up that the fees were not in your contract and that you shouldn’t have to pay them.
