Grass aisle runner, thoughts?

Yam, on August 25, 2019 at 4:29 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 11
Ok my gazebo has a crack in the wood on the floor, not dangerous just ugly. Girl’s gotta have an aisle runner.
I don’t like aisle runners, I’ve looked at so many, finally I came across a couple photos. I was thinking maybe I could glue flowers or petals to the runner since I’m not allowed to scatter petals.

What do you think? Could this look cute or is there a definite possibility of it looking like craft failure? I also saw this cute idea of resting flowers on little wood slices.

I personally don't like faux grass, so I vote no. It could look super fake and be more of an eyesore, unfortunately

Yeah that’s what I’m afraid of. I haven’t even priced higher end fake grass yet. I know I don’t want it to look like that though.

Oh! What if I made one myself out of real moss? Moss is cheap for the real stuff. I have no idea how to make a runner out of moss unless maybeI just attached it to a cheap paper one...

Would you actually be walking on this runner or just using it to line the aisle? If the former, then I advise against it because this would be a tripping hazard. The last thing you want is to be walking down the aisle and get your shoe caught in the grass/moss or slip on it. This is why the church I got married in prohibited all aisle runners.

We would be standing on it but no walking down the aisle. Our wedding is small and everyone is sitting on the benches inside the gazebo with us so we need just a short runner for the gazebo only.
I didn’t consider the slipping hazard. I’d have to see how I feel standing on it first.

I think it’s a cute idea. You’d have to look around and see what you could get for the fake grass though, as it may not actually look as good as in the picture. But if it’s a wood floor, I like the idea of a color to make the isle pop, like the green of the grass does.

Is this crack something you’re focusing on that no one else will even notice or think twice of? I was recently in a wedding where the bride didn’t like a water pipe behind the aisle, so they put up fabric drapery and TBH i didn’t notice the water pipe prior to the decorations.

I personally think the grass adds a bit of whimsy and freshness to the aisle. And it won't get wrinkly In photos like a regular runner does!

I still really love the look too but I’d definitely have to see the grass in person. There’s a lot of ugly, cheap looking grass out there.

Oh no it’s noticeable for sure, it’s right at the front of the aisle where guests will walk in and sit. It’s not a tiny scratch, it’s a big chunk. I’d leave it as-is if it wasn’t directly in front where my photographer will be shooting.

That’s what I’m hoping it would look like, whimsy! It’s an enchanted forest theme, I want as much greenery as possible.
