Grandparents at the processional

In some traditions, they do (i.e. Jewish weddings). It depends what you want. If you want them to walk down, that's your choice and no one can tell you no! You can have them escorted by a groomsman, walk together -- it depends how many there are and what everyone is most comfortable with.
