Geez....that is not an unflattering dress for a senior citizen, Chivy. What's your suggestion? How should grandma look better -- perhaps a bra that will push her breasts up to her neck? A pair of Spanx? A corset?

OP, sorry about that...Grandma isn't honored, hugged, kissed, or complimented at the wedding because she wore a dress that makes her look like a 45 year old woman. Those expressions of love and honor are based on so much more than that. It's because of who she is, what she's meant to you, and everyone else in her family orbit.

Grandma can't lose -- she wins because she's grandma (and that's not because she's the softie who makes cookies -- it's because she's a real woman with a history of endurance that exceeds more than most people -- including her family -- really know, and there she stands, smiling, winning -- in a blue lace gown).

However, having said all that, I think she made a beautiful choice (I love blue, and I love lace). Treat her to pro hair and make-up (if she'll have it, lol), or buy her a glittering necklace or earrings to make her feel really special (and don't forget a corsage -- ladies of her generation love them). She's going to look fantastic.

Grandmas rock, and I think of both of mine -- and miss them -- almost every day.
