Grand exit/get away car

Crystal, on September 12, 2015 at 12:06 AM Posted in Planning 0 12

How will you be making your grand exit??

I have been seriously stressed over this! The options are very limited where I'm from, my choices were 2 limo companies and that was it. The prices were about the same, $200 for 30 minutes (a ride from the venue to the hotel) and I just....couldn't :/. It's not even that I can't afford it, I just thought it was insane. Though I learned through here that price is average Smiley sad

But! The lady who owns "my" venue gave me contact info for a couple who owns 7 vintage cars. They are trying to start their own business, they are providing us with a '69 Chevy SS convertible camaro for a photo prop and our "get away" ride all for $75!!! FH is stoked, he has a '73 camaro and is obsessed with cars and I'm obsessed with the price!

The chances of us stopping at a Taco Bell before going to the after party are also highly likely. My love for Taco Bell exceeds all other loves.

This is literally the last thing we have thought of planning. We dont even know where we are staying that night. We live 30 minutes away so we are like... Do we just go home to our dogs??

I really want to stay at this bed and breakfast place I've been eyeing on. But we plan on hitting up downtown after the reception is done...so now that I think of it, we may need a cab or something lol!

We made none (wedding and reception at the same place, then we hung around until people left), but if we had it would have just been in our car. My mom and dad own two classic cars, as does my more distant uncle, and using them just feels super prom/show and tell to me since I grew up with them, and limos aren't our thing.

It's super cool that your venue person gave you that, sounds like a big relief!

Eh to me limos are kinda "promish" but not MUSCLE CARS lol maybe those were FH words because we actually discussed that. We are getting married in our home town which is 3 hours away from where we live. We normally just crash at my parents house when we go visit but we decided staying there wasn't ideal for our first night as a married couple. We are staying at the hotel we did our block through and partying at the hotel bar with our out of town guests after the wedding.

Mine's more that those particular cars have those associations, and it would have felt weird to rent someone else's when, y'know, those are right there and free. My prom also didn't really have limos (I don't think anyone had them, actually), so while I don't feel limos I also don't have that association.

I can't blame you for sleeping somewhere else. Even if you just crash, it's so much nicer to have some time and space just to yourself, especially after a busy day

My FH wants leave in a Corvette. We will probably be renting a Corvette. We are having an afternoon wedding so it will also be our hang out on the town car.
