Grand Entrance?!

Kathryn, on April 5, 2011 at 6:34 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

FH wants a grand entrance into our reception. I thought the traditional announcement into the venue would be fine. What are you ladies doing for a grand entrance? Any ideas that aren't going to cost a fortune?!?!

Usually there's not much difference between one an the other. The difference is in your DJ. One choice doesn't fit all. When you interview your DJ, find out what his style and/or recommendation is for you.

Some DJ's incorporate additional services, like a love story into the grand entrance, but the majority are going to do a fairly straight forward entrance with a few choices. We give all couples the option between:

    1) One Song for wedding party and another song for bride and groom (most popular)

    2) Same song for wedding party and newlyweds

    3) No announcement of the bridal party, just bride and groom.

Check with your DJ. S/he should be able to make the right choice for you.

We have different songs for the bridal party entry (I'm Too Sexy mwahahaha) and then the Seattle Sounders theme song for our intro (thats our favorite team). It should be fun and are bridal party are hams so I think it will go over great. Smiley winking

We just came prancing in to "Today" by The Smashing Pumpkins. It was pretty awesome.

I know this is SOOOOOOOO dorky, but I feel like it would be so much fun to come into the reception in a way something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AeN-8PsLHJ4

If you search it on YouTube, you'll find a ton of couples who copied this for their reception entrances.

This is what I want to do: His parents are mr & mrs d.s. and once we get married we will be mr & mrs d.s., same name. I thought the DJ (who is super awesome) could announce them after the bridal party as the newly married....but here they come walking in. It will get a laugh as his parents have been married 47 years. And then the DJ will then say....will the newly married....not 47 yrs ago married mr & mrs please come on in....

    What do you think?
