Grand entrance to dinner transition

Hi all! I am trying to figure out how to transition to dinner once the grand entrances have happened. The wedding party will enter… and do they just stand in a line together and wait for us? Once we get out there and people cheer and all that……. How do we transition to dinner? Just have dj say ok it’s dinner time table 1-3 please go line up. Do bride and groom get their food first? Does someone get their food for them?

Most weddings I've been to the bridal party sits in their seats after they are introduced and then everyone stands at their seats when the couple is introduced. Then your DJ will most likely be communicating with your caterer or coordinator who will let everyone know when it's time for dinner and if it's buffet will call each table up. If you're doing any sort of blessing that would happen before everyone is called up.

We are doing the wedding party grand entrance, they will go to the front to stand & cheer each other on etc. because we have a sweetheart table & some of the wedding party are sitting at different tables. Then once we come out, the wedding party will disperse to their seats & we will go straight into our first dance. After the first dance we will go into our blessing then dinner. We are getting both courses at once while everyone else will be served the first course so we can eat & get up to visit tables. We will have servers to bring the food out.

Talk to your DJ, they may have a plan for transitioning! Ours had some great ideas for not only transitioning to dinner but to get people on the dance floor right away.

At mine we had the grand entrance. The wedding party stood up in front of our sweet heart table, we came in and went immediately into our first dance and then we all sat down and dinner was served. I haven't been to any other weddings to compare it to, but it seemed like a pretty smooth transition.
