Return Addresses Got My Invitations Ordered But Gold Ink and Return Addresses... 1

So, I used minted.com for my wedding invitations. For some reason they like to place the return addresses on the back of the envelope instead of the front. I didn't think about it until after I ordered them and I'm afraid it might cause issues delivery wise. Has anyone placed the return addresses on the back flap and had issues (it is in gold font like the return addresses pictured above)? Also, the ink for the addresses on the outer envelope are in gold. Not gold foil, but just regular gold font...will this be an issue? I cannot see a popular company creating something knowing it will have issues at the post office. Attached is an exact picture of how my invites will be addresses (logo and all).

We had ours on the back flap and we didn't have any returned, but we had a small wedding, so we only sent out about 40 invitations.

I do think it's fairly standard for wedding invites to have the return address on the back flap. I wouldn't worry about it too much!

I ordered from minted with the return address on the back and had no problems.

There have been previous threads where invitations were returned to the sender, presumably because the return address was scanned. The USPS site is clear that they want the return address on the upper left of the front of the envelope.

Pretty much every invitation and stationery company does this, so it’s very common. I’ve received invitations and cards addresses that way with no issues.

I used our address stamp for our STDs on the back (I'm too cheap to pay the extra $140 for the return address printing). We had a couple of people say they never got them, but I'm attributing that to the holiday rush.

What about the gold lettering in general being an issue? Do you think that will be an issue?

Will the gold lettering be an issue? I'm asking everyone this because this is what I am more concerned about :/.

I don’t think the color will be an issue. As long as it’s visible and legible, you’re good. I actually plan on addressing my invitations in copper ink. 🙂

Also, if that is a real address, I would remove the picture and attach a picture of a sample. If it’s already a sample, please disregard!

No, it is the sample picture from the website Smiley smile. But thanks, I know a lot of people forget this is a public forum Smiley laugh.

We had the return address printed on the back fkap for our STDs and wedding invitations. We only had one issue where one STD was sent to the return address without any markings on it saying to return to sender or that the address in the front of the envelope was invalid. We simply put it in a new envelope and sent it on its way again and it got there.

I also put our return address on the back flap for our Christmas cards this year. None were returned.

I don't *think* there will be an issue with the ink color, but you can always take an envelope in to your local post office to confirm that it will be okay and if the post office says it could be an issue, ask Minted to correct it.

I almost always stamp my return address on the back flap. The machine should know to scan the side with the stamp as the side for the delivery address. I sent out 40 STDs from Minted with printed front font and stamped back flap w/o any returned or not delivered. I'm going to use them for my invites as well. Your ink should be fine as long as it's legible. I think the machine has trouble when it's handwritten with the gold ink in a really lavish calligraphy. The font Minted uses should be fine.

I receive cards from invites to Christmas cards to thank you notes with the return addresses on the back, there is no issue there.

I've never had issues with sending mail with the return address on the back of an envelope instead of the top left! Shouldn't give you any problems!

When I sent my oldest daughters invites I addressed them all in Gold ink and return address was on the back and it was all fine. I sent out 100 invites and only had one person state that they did not receive their invite.

Yes it is standard to have the return address on the back flap. I also got my invitations from minted and I had no issues with any being returned.

Wedding invitation or not, I never put my return address in the upper left corner.

We sent our invitations out 12/27 with our return address on the back and none of them were returned.

The gold is fine. The only thing about the addressing from minted is that I think the font could have been bigger. I had no issues with return address on back.
