Got my engagement photos back and i feel way insecure about them.....

Don’t be so hard on yourself! It’s been one heck of a year for almost everyone. The third picture is stunning! I think the first picture is possibly maternity material, but the rest are cute! It looks like you were trying to incorporate your new home? We, your audience, are not familiar with how you looked pre-pandemic so we won’t be able to comment on that aspect. 🤍

Wow we are our own worst critics. I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm not a big fan of my own pictures either.

I understand where you're coming from, and my heart goes out to you. I got our sneak peeks back from our engagement session and I couldn't help but feel the same way you just described. I've gained weight during my relationship, and I struggle with finding the beauty that my FH sees. We can be critical on our looks and judge ourselves so harshly. I'm sorry you're feeling this way, but please know that you are gorgeous and look stunning in these photos!

If this is the same photographer you will have for your wedding, don't be afraid to give feedback! Let them know what angles you didn't like being shot in, what poses you felt more comfortable and lovely in, and any other feedback that will help!

I personally do not think these photos turned out bad at all - actually, especially the last two, I think they turned out super cute! I think my favorite is the third one. They're your photos though, and your opinion is what matters most - if you don't like them, maybe reach out to your photographer to see if they're willing to retake them for you?

Thank you, I really appreciate the compliment and feedback. And yes it will be the same photographer. I think they're brilliant and I could see what they were going for, I just have a tendency of picking myself apart until I literally cant find anything good anymore.

And I am definitely glad we at least got the experience of an engagement photo so I know what angles and poses to use or avoid for the wedding day! And maybe a starting point to get back into shape again!

Thank you for your feedback, it really does help! Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to redo my photos since my fiance is now deployed until June 2021 and we are moving that same month to a different state... (oh military life....) lol

Totally get that. It's tough to not point out flaws when looking at photos of yourself. That's the great thing about engagement shoots, it gives you some practice in front of the camera before your wedding day and also is a good starting ground when figuring out wedding day poses/prompts with your photographer.

Our photos def. helped push me into going back to the gym! A good goal to set is to work out at least 3x a week. After a few weeks of keeping that up, it will start to become routine and second nature.

Good luck with wedding planning, and remember that the most important person to be kind to is yourself.

Girl, you look so pretty!!!! I actually love the dress that you picked out and your makeup looks amazing! I also hate when my photo is taken, but photographers have that special eye/skill to help make you look stunning. I would definitely discuss with them what angles/poses you would like to have for your wedding day.

Girl, same. Plus FH is making weird faces in the ones that I don’t look bad in. Honestly, we are only using a select few from the session and I don’t feel like it’s the photographers fault either. Some are going to be artfully cropped as well. I think your photos look great! I totally understand where you are coming from though

Thanks! And that is my favorite one too so far. There are more standing photos but they all kind of made me feel really fat not going to lie. Im truly regretting my dress, it did nothing for my figure...

I’m sorry you feel how you do. I think the third picture is gorgeous and the fourth one is super cute too! You don’t look pale at all. You have beautiful skin! My daughter just called me because she got her engagement pictures today and she was saying the same things. We are all so hard on ourselves. If you are really unhappy with them maybe ask for another session and tell her the poses you like and don’t like. Try not to be so hard on yourself.
