Gosh darn tiny diamonds

Stephanie, on September 13, 2017 at 2:32 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 24

I LOVE my engagement ring, but it has been ripped from my hand (not really, I willingly took it off and into the little baggy) to go back to Verriago for a repair! I feel so naked without it! One of the little side diamonds fell out and has to be replaced. It's going to be a long 2-4 weeks Smiley sad

Anyone else have issues with their rings? I wear mine all the time except at the gym so it gets its fair share of love!

I lost 2 side tiny stones the night before the wedding. Oh well.

Luckily they do all sizing, repairs, cleaning, etc on site so it only took 3 days to have them replaced.

Photographer just made sure not to get that angle in detail pictures (luckily both stones that fell out were on the same side)

Unless I'm showering, my ring is on my finger! I feel so naked without it. I'm sorry about your diamonds falling out and I hope your beautiful ring is back on your finger where it belongs soon!

I had a ring (since returned) where 7 tiny diamonds fell out. FH is looking to get me a replacement and we agreed no tiny diamonds because I have the worst luck with them!! Sorry this happened, I know what it's like feeling naked! haha

I typically only take mine off when I shower because I'm afraid it'll go down the drain. Do you have it inspected regularly? (not sure if they are like Kay's and do that for insurance purposes)

This is why I got a six prong solitaire because I am an animal with jewelry.

The prongs get worn down on those small diamonds because they are constantly rubbing on your other fingers. This is probably going to be a lifelong issue. I would bring it in for a prong check more often and I would not wear it at the gym.

We got it at Mervis diamond outside D.C. and they are taking care of all the cost of repair which is good. I guess FH got a protection plan that came free since he financed it for 3 months. I feel like if I take it off I'm going to lose it! I have a hair trap over the shower drain so I never worry about it falling off in there.

I lost one stone. It was a one week replacement. I usually wear my enso ring (silicone) at work and the gym.

Mine has tiny little prongs that hold all the small diamonds in but I guess someone it wiggled out. I put on my silicone band just to feel something there. I had mini heart attacks not feeling it all day and then remembering I turned it in and not lost it haha

I have lost one before as well. It happened after I sized it down ( my ring size is tiny!) but luckily it only took a day to get it fixed!

I've had problems with the "halo" diamonds. Two have fallen out and been replaced, now I don't wear my ring at work.

Hopefully it won't take too long for your ring to be returned!

I wear mine all the time except for showering and dishes. I lost a tiny stone from the band about 2 weeks after FH proposed. I was devastated! Lol thankfully FH bought the protection plan from Jared and mine locally does all work in house. They had it for 3 hours and no problems since! That was over a year ago. I hate anytime it has to leave my possession even if it's just to clean it. Hope you get them back soon!!!

I lost one of my tiny stones too. The jeweler we bought it from warned us that can be an issue with the tiny stones. Luckily they are great about fixing it and it doesn't have to be sent off.

I have a verragio too. I always find myself checking the tiny side diamonds (especially at work because I'm constantly washing my hands - germaphobe RN here), but verragio's warranty on the side diamonds being covered for life is what sold my FH on my ring. Hope you get yours back soon!!

I had one small diamond come out of mine, but had it replaced free of charge. I'm sorry it happened to you!

I have not! But I do take it off anytime I even think it may get wet, for any reason. But I did buy three Enso rings to replace it on days when I think it's too risky to wear it!

This happened to me 2 months after receiving my ring and it was a nightmare! FH got the ring from Kay. We went to a different Kay than the one he purchased the ring from to look at bands while we were out shopping one day and while I was there, one of the employees put my ring in the cleaner for far too long. When it came out, TWO of my little pave's had fallen out. He was very dismissing about it, basically blaming me for them falling out and never apologizing. Had it sent away for 2 weeks for repair. I was so happy to have my ring back - but then I looked down THE NEXT DAY and ONE OF THE REPLACED DIAMONDS HAD ALREADY FALLEN OUT! I brought the ring back to the Kay it was purchased from and they were appalled, saying that the jeweler rushed the repair and the employee should have inspected it before giving it back to me. They took my ring for another 3 weeks because there was a defective in the design and they had to reshape that section of the ring. I was just so frustrated that that wasn't fixed the first time! Haven't had any problems since and clearly will never go to the Kay that "broke" my ring ever again!

I had one small issue when a paving stone came out. But this was right after it was sized and we think it may have come loose during the sizing.

When it happened to me I read tiny side and paving stones are the most common to come loose and fall out because the prongs that hold them in are so tiny they can catch really easily.

double check your warranty and make sure you get ring insurance for when that runs out. Also make sure you take really good care of your ring. I take my ring off as soon as I get him and place it back in its box (I have not purchased a ring dish yet). I do not wear it when I do housework, cook, clean or shower. I never wear it to bed. I wear it when we are out of the house and as soon as I come home I pretty much take it off.

This makes me so nervous. My engagement ring has 20 small diamonds between the sides, front and back, and I find myself constantly checking to make sure they haven't fallen out. The wedding ring has several more. I have a protection plan for 2 more years on it, and it's insured separately, but I'm just paranoid. I take it off whenever I'm doing dishes, showering, cleaning, working out, etc.

Hoping they finish up the repair quickly so that you can get your ring back on your finger!
