Google Photos

Has anyone ever used Google Photos for sharing wedding photos? I’m interested in having guests upload their pictures ( actually I’m excited my people LOVE them some pictures!) but I’m not sure what to use. I already use Google photos for other things and love it so thought that might be an option, but wanted to know what someone else might have experienced.

Hey Selina! So I don't used Google photos in uploading pictures, but my SO exclusively uses it to share pictures with me. I think it's a really neat way to share pictures and get them out to loved ones, but when I've tried to upload pictures, I find it a little complicated.

TLDR: It's a great option if you're trying to send family members pictures, but I would look for other options in asking wedding guests to download them.

Thanks for your input Maggie. I will definitely keep that in mind. I was thinking I might have a couple options, hashtag, google photos and then another phot share app. But to be fair, I have a bit of time to make this decision!

I was thinking about setting up an email address for guests to email photos. I was thinking that it would be pretty easy for guests to send them from their phones that day/night, and if they took pictures on a camera, they can email later the next day/week. I don't want them to have to download and app or set up an account to share photos, but most people have an email and know how to email photos.

I was also hoping for guests to use a hashtag for when they put photos on social media, but I've heard that doens't always work very well.

That’s an excellent point and an excellent suggestion. Thank you! I’m writing all these down in my planner. Big day isn’t until 10/20 so I have a little bit of time.

I was just debating this myself. I was looking into a couple of the wedding photo sharing apps, but was unsure of whether people would take the time to download an app or would be wary of that? Or with older guests, might not be familiar with the tech? I like the idea above of including an email to send them to. As a guest, I would definitely do that if I snapped a cute photo I thought they would like.
