Good time length for 1st dance 🤔

Honestly, as much of the song as is important to you two. Typically, I see the first dance lasting the entire song.
If you don't want to dance that long, I'd say try to do it yourself, if you can. If not, ask the DJ if that's something they can do. 😊

I would go with a short song or have the song cut off. An entire song can be really long both for those in the spotlight and those who have to watch. Having the DJ edit the song would make for a smoother transition, but having a cutoff point will work just fine.

We're doing dance lessons for a surprise dance and we cut our song to about 100 seconds. Our instructor agreed, saying more than 2 minutes can get boring for guests, and a little too much spotlight for the couple.

I think we’ll dance for about a minute and a half or two minutes then have the dj invite everyone else out with us to finish the song. Longer than that people will get restless. But it needs to be enough time to 1. Enjoy each other and savor the moment and 2. The photographer to get a few good shots

I have zero desire to dance in front of an audience for 4+ minutes twice, so I am cutting my music for both my first dance and my dance with my dad. I'm a figure skater and have basically taught myself how to cut music for skating programs over the years. If you want to try to cut it yourself, Garage Band (if you use a Mac) is a good editing program for beginners!

Do you have a song that you just absolutely love, but feel is too long? If that's the case, my vote is for finding a cut-off point.

Otherwise, if you're still looking for songs, I'd recommend one about 3 minutes long which is a pretty standard song length.

I dont know why we should cut it shorter than it is? We only get to 1st dance once

My H and I took dance lessons; the Song length is best between a minute and a half, and two minutes. It's plenty of time, plenty.

Our song is a little under 3 minutes and we are taking dance lessons. Our instructor is teaching foxtrot to us since it goes with our song selection. We are doing the whole song based off her recommendation.

We plan to dance 2 of the 4 minute song alone and then invite our guests to join us.
