Good sized toss bouquet?

Kiri, on September 9, 2015 at 3:15 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

So the Etsy seller I ordered bouquets from has started working on my orders! Yay!!!

Here are the photos of the toss bouquet she just finished. I asked her for a size reference hence the second picture with the can lol. I think it's a 14 oz can so about 4-5 inches in height. Is that a good size for toss bouquets?

Looks great! The one my ex-dil had was so big that it caused a lump on her 10 year old ring-bearer's head. Her aim was more than a little off. This was still when 90% of bouquets were in bouquet holders and not hand tied.

I think that's plenty big. Mine was about that size.

Thanks for your advices Smiley smile ! Good to know that the size will work.

@Midwest May: Ouch! In a recent wedding I went to, the bride tossed the bouquet way too lightly the first time, and it ended on the floor right behind her. The second time she tossed it too hard and it hit an innocent waiter standing far away... I might have to practice this a little bit.

I would make it more about weight then size. You want it to be heavy enough that it can get to the girls. A friend of mine was to light and it wouldnt fly through the air like it was supposed it. Just my 2 cents!

Good point @CareBear! I'm seriously considering practicing a few times at home (probably throwing something else of similar weight) now lol.

I think that size is perfect! Not too big or small. The flower arrangement is gorgeous. Can I ask who you bought from on etsy for this? I haven't decided any decor or not (I may end up DIYing all my decor), but it's great to have options!

@Nickie, I ordered bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres off this Etsy shop:

I haven't received the order yet so I don't know how they'll turn out. But I fell in love when I first saw the shop!

@SoonToBeMrs.P, they're called sola flowers, and made out of wood from tapioca plants - which is bizarre since I always associate tapioca with food and drinks!

You can toss a rose and whoever catches it gets your bouquet.

    How does that sound?

I've heard of these! My FMIL has severe seasonal allergies and asthma (she is finally on a gluten/dairy free diet and medicinal cocktail that seems to really be helping!) but trying to find flowers that won't kill her is tough! These might be a good option!!
