Good reads!

Allison, on August 4, 2019 at 1:38 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 6

I’m not much of a reader usually but I do love to read while on the beach. Anybody have any good recommendations on a good book to read on my honeymoon?! Thanks!

What do you enjoy? If you’re into epic sagas (but still easy to read), check out Ken Follett. His “Fall of Giants” trilogy is wonderful, and if you’re into epic historical sagas, his “Pillars of the Earth” trilogy is also brilliant (haven’t read the third one but the first two are great). I also enjoy Jodi Picoult, although once you’ve read a few of hers you can generally see where she’s going with the story pretty quickly! If crime novels are your thing, Sue Grafton’s “Alphabet” series is top-notch although she sadly died before she could finish the “Z” novel in the series. I also really like Elizabeth George, P.D James and Ngaio Marsh for murder mysteries.

Where the Crawdad Sings by Delia Owens, takes place on the North Carolina coast. It’s really good.

I read all sorts of books. My beach books are not always chick lit, but if that’s what you are looking for Elin hilderbrand is good

Goodreads is a great source for finding books! People write reviews and they’re broken into different genres. I’m a 7th grade English teacher, so I end up reading mostly kiddo-appropriate books so I can get them excited about reading by talking about them! My “guilty pleasure” books would be anything by Janet Evanovich. She uses quite a bit of humor and has several series (some more action-based mysteries, some romances). But definitely check out Goodreads!
