Good coverage foundation

Vanessa, on May 19, 2017 at 11:24 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17

So I'm planning on doing my own makeup cause I'm more comfortable with it and was wondering what foundation would be best on the big day? I don't mind liquid or powder I just don't want anything that sets into the lines of my face or makes me look cakey. What are some suggestions for foundations that will last and look great all day?

I have been absolutely loving the Lancome 24 hr foundation it's so amazing full coverage but natural looking, long lasting, and it doesn't feel heavy at all. I'll be wearing it for my wedding

Mary Kay Foundations with the Finishing Spray and Translucent powder works really well for me!

I would suggest going to somewhere like Sophra because they will be able to find something that works well for you and your skin.

I know what works well for coverage and all day lasting and formula on the skin doesn't work for my sister in law and I can give you mine which is Tarte full coverage liquid foundation but that may end up caking on your skin. But LOVE it on mine.

I think it would be best for you to go somewhere and test things out.

Seconding @Nikki's recommendation for Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation. They have tons of shades with a variety of tones. I find the Lancôme 24hr is too pinky on me, along with all drugstore foundations. Double Wear lasts forever on me, is full coverage without looking cakey and is really comfortable. If you have very dry skin, however, I wouldn't recommend it. You will want to be very moisturizer before you apply, and you have to work quickly because it sets quickly.

I do suggest buying it and practicing with it weeks in advance. The best thing you can do is prepare your skin. well. Use great moisturizer. That will help with lines and dryness. USE PRIMER. Face and eyelids. My fave eye primer is Urban Decay. It will keep your makeup on all day/ night. Good luck and have fun!!

I have been using a MAC foundation specifically for high activity ( I work a mile away from where I park downtown in my city). It stays ALL day with no noticeable wear. I'm thinking of doing my own also, and loving this stuff.

I don't wear a lot of foundation but when I do I use bare minerals liquid, it's full coverage but doesn't feel like I am wearing any. They will match your skin tone if you go into one of their stores

For my brother's wedding, my make up was photo ready with no touch ups through the entire reception! I use: MAC timecheck moisturizer/primer, MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof Foundation, MAC Prep & Prime Highlighter, and MAC Fix+ finishing spray. Everything feels light on, and no caking! Smiley smile

Everyone loves MAC because it's basically meant to be stage makeup, I personally found it to be too Cakey on my skin. I would go to Sephora and have them match you and get some free samples before you buy one.

I like the Makeup forever photo hd foundation .

MAC and BareMinerals are what I use on occasions bc I just can't stand feeling or seeing the cakey look. They're both very light and airy and you don't need much for full coverage. I use a clear "photo-finish" primer underneath too so that it has something to stick to as I can't use lotions on my face.

After years of wearing stage make up, I can safely say that at least the specific MAC foundation I mentioned is light and not at all like the awful stage make up I used to wear! It is also water based and is the only make up I can use without getting breakouts after. Definitely go somewhere for a trial run and see what is best for your skin! Good luck!

A lot of this is going to depend on your skin type and tone. Are you dry, oily, normal, or combo? That makes a huge difference with foundation and primer. Do you have pink or yellow undertones? Some brands don't cater to all skin tones or undertones. Personally, the lightest shade in some foundations can be way too orange for me. Bare Minerals oxidized like crazy on me because I was oily and so fair. L'Oréal Infallible Pro Matte is one of my favorites along with UD All-Nighter and Lancôme Teint Idole stick.

I use NYX's Total Drop Control foundation w/ the brush they sell to go with it. It's definitely buildable to full coverage. The reason I use it is for that reason; on days I want light coverage, I can do it, but if I want to build up my coverage, I absolutely can.

I also use KVD's Lock-It foundation; I enjoy using both the liquid and the powder versions. I recommend a beauty blender for it, though, personally. It's on the pricier side, but I feel it's worth it.

I also recommend investing in a primer and a setting spray/powder (whichever you prefer). It'll do wonders for how long your make-up lasts.

I typically apply a primer, then concealer, followed by either a blotting powder or a powder foundation, and then I apply my liquid foundation; when I'm done, setting spray. I find this routine helps my make-up to last longer. All I end up doing is using a blotting powder to control some shine, but that's waaaaaayyyyy later on.

Go to sephora and get a color match. also, get a week's worth of samples so you can wear it around to see how you really like it and if it settles well. If you like it, go back and buy it.
