Gold/ivory vs traditional white?

Disquess, on January 11, 2017 at 10:27 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 29

So I completely fell in love with two dresses. One is traditional white and the other is like a gold/champagne color. Is it like too again wedding tradition to pick the gold/champagne? I love it but I'm too afraid I'll regret not going white... thoughts?

Most dresses aren't pure white anymore they are varying shades of off white. Go with what you love and rock it!

My gown is ivory/champage and I have zero regrets. Whatever you love is meant to be your dress, no matter the color!

I agree with PPs, pick the one you love most. When I was shopping, my consultant stated that white isn't true white but a variation. And, then when I tried on my gown, I didn't even realize that it wasn't pure white, but ivory with gold underlay, I ordered it just as it was.

It's more common than you'd think. A lot of people now intentionally opt for something that's not stark white because it's not as flattering for many.

The first shop I went to, while looking around, my mom noticed the majority of the samples were ivory. She asked the woman who was helping us if it is common and she told us that most people buy ivory, not white anymore. I didn't think much of it, but my mom was shocked. She did say that a lot of the dresses are made in white too though in case you're looking for that.

My dress ended up being blush/ivory and I love it so much.

Mine is ivory and maple. I love it and I love being different. If it's what you love then go for it.

I personally don't mind slightly off white, but my mom really wanted me to wear white and my dress came in both. I got white because it didn't matter to me but did to her. Go with what you love, and if you're stuff, get opinions from those close to you.

Mine is champagne with ivory lace. I wasn't expecting to go for a champagne color, but I fell in love!

Mine is considered ivory overlay with almond. When I wear it you still see "white" it's just not stark white. I love itSmiley smile

I love non-traditional wedding dresses! My dress is "sterling" (aka gray) and I am sooo in love with it!

Mine is a gray/pink color - anything goes. The biggest trend for wedding dresses in 2017 is shades of blue!!!

My dress is antique champagne and I love it. Pure white is actually a really difficult color to pull off so I say go with whatever makes you feel amazing.

I don't feel like there's any tradition you have to stick to anymore! My dress color is technically champagne, but it looks blush. Go with whatever you feel more beautiful in!

Mine was champagne and ivory. I looked horrible in the white dresses. I'm way too pale for that.
