Gold Versus Silver

Chelsea, on June 6, 2018 at 9:35 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11
Hi! Our wedding colors are navy, burgundy and gold. I am having trouble deciding if my accessories and headpiece should also be gold to match the wedding or if I can wear silver? My rings are silver so I almost thinking wearing gold accessories would clash my rings but if I wear silver I will clash with my wedding decor. Any brides have gold as their wedding color and what accessories did you have?

I actually have the same exact colors. I got silver jewelry since my rings are white gold and the beading on my dress has some silver coloring. As the bride you dont have to match the colors so I vote silver

Definitely silver. No need to match your colors and you definitely won’t clash

I agree with PP! My colors are ivory, beige, gold, and silver (with lots of greenery). We aren’t mixing the metals, but there will be silver in certain rooms and gold in others (our venue doesn’t have much of an open floor plan). The primary dining room will have a lot of gold, but my bridesmaids will be wearing silver metallic dresses and my accessories are silver. I think you should stick with silver as non matching accessories would go more noticed than not matching your colors.

My wedding colors are coral and gold, but all of my accessories are silver (a blingy belt, jewellery, shoes, hair piece, and white gold rings). I think gold accessories would clash with my dress, so I went with silver. I wouldn't worry about it clashing with your decor. Definitely go with the silver!

You could go either way! My colors are navy, blush, and gold. My ring is white gold but my fiance is leaning toward a gold ring. I'm having some brooches in my bouquet that'll be a mix of gold, silver, and pearls. I found a gold hairpiece with (faux) diamonds and pearls. My necklace will be pearls. As long as it matches your dress, it'll be fine. Not everything needs to be so matchy matchy.

I would stick with the color of your rings because there will be pictures of you but not of all your accessories together

plus gold and silver together is not the no no it was before

I would go with silver. You yourself don’t have to match the color scheme, I think of it more for decorations. Wear jewelry that you think matched best

You can wear whatever jewelry you want. It doesn't need to match the color scheme of your decor.

I was also a coral and gold bride! My shoes were gold but I had them and didn’t want to buy new ones, and you couldn’t see them anyway. My rings are white gold and my earrings were silver, as well as the decorative belt on my dress was also silver. It looks totally fine in pictures!

Gold was one of our major colors too (plus orange and brown). I went for gold or bronze accessories (see pics below). Have you looked up bronze?

Sure, it would be great if you found gold (or rose gold or bronze) accessories you love. But if you prefer silver and that matches your dress better, go for silver!
