Going tinkle in a form fitting dress?

I’Mmrsv, on July 5, 2017 at 2:13 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 17

I don't know about everyone else, but I am wearing a very form fitted lace up mermaid gown. All of the tips and tricks for peeing while in your dress show more loose fitting, ball gown style dresses. Can anyone offer some advice on relieving the bladder in a tight dress? Because honestly, how realistic is it to avoid liquid (especially alcohol) on your wedding day? I plan on getting my party on!

My plan was to unzip and step out of the dress. Mine didn't take long to get in and out of, so this seemed like the best option for me.

Turned out I never had to go after I put the dress on.

I'm afraid of this as well. Once I 'break' the seal after drinking I per every 15 minutes.

I'm really not trying to unlace my corset back all night. #dressdrama

I have about 20 buttons to take mine off that could take valuable dancing time away. Following!

My original plan was to lift the dress from the front and sit on the toilet backwards.. However! My dress ended up being too tight at the thighs to lift high enough so my maids had to literally unhook every button and I had to fully get out of my dress!! It took a while! My suggestion is to practice before the wedding day

I spoke with the seamstress at my first fitting about this because I always have to pee! I'm very hip/bottom heavy and was convinced that I wouldn't be able to pee without undoing the entire corset back, but she showed me that if I just loosen the bottom of the corset, I can wiggle it up little by little enough to go! We'll see how it actually plays out day of, but at least I know it's possible in theory!

Pee backwards. Lift your dress up over your hips and pee facing the wall.

I have a form fitting dress a fit and flare but mine is a zipper so I think it would be easy to unzip or slip it up

Just pull your dress up over your hips and straddle the toilet facing the wall. That'll keep your dress from going in the toilet. Luckily, I didn't ever have to go on my wedding day, but it wouldn't have been a big deal if I did with that method.

My mermaid dress was too tight, I had to take it completely off and step out of it in order to use the bathroom. But I'm mostly here to say DO NOT avoid liquid in order to avoid having to pee, you absolutely need to stay hydrated, it would be far worse to faint or get a rager of a headache on your wedding day due to dehydration than it would be to take a few long-ish bathroom breaks. Please please please drink lots of water all day on your wedding day.

I'm so so dreading this! I'm hoping I'm a lucky one who doesn't have to pee. Maybe my nurse bladder that holds it all day will come in handy for once!

Mine is a corset so I can't do it by myself unfortunately. Not sure how I'll do mine, but I like the idea of lifting and peeing backwards as I saw in the comments. Hopefully it goes over the things since it's a corset. Either way I'm going to have a great time and I will figure it out.

Glad I'm not the only worried one lol. I'll definitely practice beforehand.

Honestly don't worry about it too much... Like I said it did take a while to get undressed but I had to do it twice all night. It's not something to worry about, and I definitely wouldn't sacrifice getting the dress I wanted just because it was hard to pee in

Mine was a mermaid too. We had to unzip the back and then my bridesmaids helped me shimmy it up over my hips so I could pee.

Theoretically corsets tend to loosen as the night goes on so it may loosen enough anyway to pull it up enough to pee

"Tinkle" is for a 3 year old learning potty training.

I've practiced facing the wall and going backwards, it's awkward but it's not impossible. If needed, I'll ask my mom to help me.
