I am laughing out loud about this but have just started to consider having goats during our cocktail hour for guests to interact with. We are getting married in Vermont in May and our vibe is woodsy and outdoorsy so this would be fitting. Not to mention cute and memorable! My question for all of...

My question for all of you, have you had goats at your wedding or been to one with goats? What was your experience? Bonus points if you can point me to a farmer in central VT who has goats.

I love goats! The only concern that comes to mind is goats eat everything, including clothing. I was at a petting zoo and my sister and I were petting the goats through the fence and when she wasn’t looking one grabbed the hem of her shirt and tore it off above her navel and ate the fabric. Like went from a normal tank top to a belly shirt. I would hate for that to happen to someone’s nice wedding clothes!

My best friend lives on a farm and has goats. They like to jump up on us like dogs and come by and lick our hands for treats. I think its cute in theory, but they may end up messing up your guests attire.

So i grew up with goats and it’s a myth that they eat everything. They can be temperamental though. My aunt is a goat breeder and some are so so sweet and some can be pretty hot and cold and their head butts are not light haha. I personally would love to attend a wedding that had goats. i would just be cautious since you don’t know these goats specifically.

I have never been to a wedding with any animals, but if I went to a wedding with goats I would be so unbelievably excited! I honesty wouldn’t even care how dressed up I was, but I’m probably in the minority with that so sections would probably be good lol. I think this is such an amazing and fun idea!!
