Gloves for Bridesmaids?

Okay so the current plan is going for kind of fun anime-ish wedding attire. The bride wants to straight up go for a Princess look with gorgeous white opera gloves. So the bridesmaids are planning on wearing gloves as well but I'm not sure what the etiquette is when it comes to what the Bridesmaids would wear without upstaging the bride (I am aware of the vintage rules about length color matching, etc.) The favorite idea for dresses is for us all to wear different colors, which we've jokingly been calling a Sailor Moon kind of thing, but there's also talk about just going for the traditional matching gowns idea. Either way, what to be done about the gloves?

If the bride is asking you to wear the gloves I don't see why this would be a concern? Unless the BMs decided to wear the gloves on their own accord?

The bride is undecided as well and we've all just been coming up with ideas. Were reading about glove etiquette:

Don't see anything about the bridesmaids though. If the bride is wearing opera gloves should the bridesmaids wear shorter gloves or are opera gloves okay as well? Should we avoid white and go for colorful or neutral colors? If we all went with the multi-colored dresses with long white gloves we'd definitely be in the Sailor Moon vibe haha!

We did, sorry for not updating. We're all wearing shorter white gloves (like to the middle of the forearm) and the bride will wear opera gloves (above the elbow). While she's doing her anime princess thing, we're all wearing matching gowns with different colors. It's totally Sailor Moon!
