Glass Favors?

Katie, on December 3, 2013 at 5:58 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 17

Has anyone found a place to get glass (like a cup you would drink out of) favors? I had originally ruled out the idea of favors, but I'm going to have to either rent glassware or do plastic, so I thought something that guests could use at the reception and then take home may be a good dual purpose idea.

Just a thought- I would make sure you find a way of letting people know that they can take the glasses home with them. Most people will probably think they are there just for drinking and not to take home. You might also want to think about a place for them to put the glasses in since they might be wet/dirty once there done with them. There are plenty of websites that you can probably find personalized glasses if that is what you were looking for.

I know we don't need another glass.

If you want to do favors go with something inexpensive and edible.

@Maria, I was thinking of personalized ones, so I would think people would know to take them home that way. I didn't think about them being dirty/wet though :-/

I know you didnt ask but I do have to agree with Paris. I feel like there are so many other options for favors that would be a better choice that people would actually use over another glass just sitting in their kitchen. Another thing I know many people really dont care for is personalized stuff with other peoples names on it. Maybe just go for the plastic cups and use the favor money towards something else? Just an opinion. If you want any further help with favors feel free to msg me =)

I need another glass, and I wouldn't use one with someone else's name or personalized info on it.

9 oz personalized stemless wine glasses! bought them at David's Bridal! i waited for a sale and their shipping was less than other websites. 2 were broken when they came (out of 212), but they actually sent 2 extra...so i didn't lose any.

I might be of a different mindset than a lot of people on here, but i don't want edible favors. its gone before you even leave the reception. i'd much rather get something i can keep. these are great for wine or as rocks glasses (whisky drinkers in the fam). I would absolutely use a glass with my friend's or family member's wedding info on it...and i have seen other people use similar things

ETA: kind of a lot of negative nancys on this one. katie asked where to get glasses, not if you would use them.

Katie, if you want to do glasses, do them!

Thanks for the opinions ladies.....you all are making me lean back toward no favors at all. No way to please everyone and I don't want to waste money on something people won't use/don't like/will leave at the wedding.

I agree with a lot of the other comments, I wouldn't have a true use for it after the wedding if doesn't match what's already in my kitchen. Just my point of view...

On another note, I just threw away some personalized champagne glasses tht we got from a wedding. Lot of people dint realize they were favors o there were a ton left on the table. We took home four because the bride gave us the saddened bide eye when she saw how many were left...needless to say they ultimatey got trashed when we got home...what do I care that Tisha and Kevin are two lovers two gether four ever...or whatever corny wedding love print was on the side....

I did a monogrammed wine glass for each of our guests but we only had 16 people (at a b&b). They also acted as the place card at the dinner table. Ours were well received by our guests.

If I were a guest where glasses were a favor I would take it, I would use it. The only thing I would like would be a paper bag to put it in for the trip home. That's just me.
