Giving away the centerpieces

TiFille, on April 7, 2009 at 9:02 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Does anyone have anyone UNIQUE ideas on how to give away the centerpieces at the end of the reception?? I have heard of "whomever has the closest birthday to the bride (at each table), gets the centerpiece"...but it seems a lot of people are doing that now. I want to be different, and at the same time have it be a little more interactive and exciting. Any ideas?

I'm going to do like a pass the buck thing i saw online: Pass the Buck - Play musical dollar at each table. Whoever is left holding the $1, wins the centerpiece.

There is a good twist on the pass the buck game. I am a Philadelphia area disc jockey and what I do is I have one person at each table take out a dollar bill. I play the music and have them pass it around. When I stop the music I say,"Alright the person who has the dollar bill, put it in your pocket, you just made a dollar, the person who supplied the dollar just won the centerpiece." The audience has a laugh and it is unique.

OMG I'm not the only bride doing this my MOH is having a fit telling me "I'm out of my mind for doing this and noone does this" thank you for posting this I thought I was going nuts! The ideas so far are really good. What about a game where the DJ asks certain questions about you and the groom and who ever gets the answer first gets the centerpiece?

If you don't want your guests to have to get up and play a game, a simple way to give the centerpieces away is to put a gold star or something under one of the chairs, and whoever is sitting there gets the centerpiece! Also, don't forget family members or friends who helped with the wedding. I feel like they should get first dibs on any centerpieces! Good luck!

You could have the dj or band read trivia questions about you and your husband like where are you going on your honeymoon, or what is the cut of your center stone in you engagement ring. Or make a crossword puzzle about the same things. The center peices don't have to go to someone sitting at that table. We gave away ours to the last people at the party and it made their day...no games or anything, just that last ones to close out the evening got to take them home.

I gave all the centerpieces away to the people who helped with the wedding. I also gave one to each grandma and kept one for myself as a momento.

Guess what i finally got the greats idea in how i gave my center pieces away i had 8 guests per table so my music entertainer (dash of class) announced who ever come up with 11 dollars at each table had a chance to win the center pieces my matron collected then told the winner you can keep your $11 or took home the centerpieces guess what all the winners took the centerpiece and i got to keep the $11 dollars from all my winners and it pay for my drinks on my little honeymoon what a way to give away a centerpiece i loved it so did my guest love M.C.M.

If you don't want to use money, you can put a scratch ticket at each table and pass it around while music plays. When the music stops the person holding the ticket keeps that and the person to the right or left, gets the centerpiece.
