Give up after multiple date switches?

Laura, on April 19, 2020 at 5:10 PM Posted in Planning 0 2

I have no idea when this will end or when a 'safe' date can be set. Might just do something with our sons with all the bells and whistles... then have a party when we buy a house. Is anyone else about to give up after multiple date changes?

Does anyone else just feel like they have nothing left to give this process?

Our wedding was originally scheduled for May 24 in New Orleans. (We live in Chicago). We’ve postponed until September 6th and if that falls through, we plan on canceling. We would be out about 5k in deposits and invites/etc, however I don’t have it in me to re-plan again. We will then have an extremely small ceremony somewhere? And then have a dinner in Chicago and one in Denver for each of our family/friends. Not ideal, but there’s nothing that can be done and I won’t let it stress me or destroy us.

That's where I am at... I just can't keep justifying the stress. My darling FH would do anything I asked of him... But we moved May to June for family, June to August for Covid... I just can't keep doing it and I think it's unfair to our vendors to keep changing it too. AND our wedding is in Arkansas and we're in Missouri. Arkansas has a limit of 10 people and no one from out of state can even rent a room there - which means us.

We researched MO wedding plans, but have no idea who would even attend. Our date is June 7th down in Arkansas and we can't seem to figure out another date. Fall might have a resurgence, winter the weather is rough, spring 2021 is possible.. But another year of planning just feels ... like a no.
