Gifts? How Long?

Cathy, on October 21, 2019 at 5:10 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

Out of curiosity, how long do people have to send gifts or cards to the newly married couple? Is it still the one year?

Yes, but remember, they don't have to give gifts at all.

I've read 1 year, but by this point if anyone who didn't send/give us a gift sent one it would be kind of weird and we are 3 months out. We've never sent one post-wedding, always before or at the wedding. We got all our gifts within 1 week post wedding (one guest forgot, so immediately purchased & had it sent to our house off our registry). The rest that didn't gift anything just didn't gift anything.

Yeah, I don't believe daughter & SIL received anything after the wedding, except from a OOT guest who realized his check was never cashed. When he found out they never received his card/gift, he resent. Other than that, everything they received was either prior to the wedding or gifted at the wedding.
