Gifts for shower hostess??

Tammy S., on May 14, 2017 at 7:07 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

Hi everyone, both my FMIL and MOH are throwing me 2 separate showers. Should I give them a shower thank you present for hosting?

I got my MoH who hosted my shower a wax warmer and some different waxes to go with it. I think it's nice to get them a small gift as a thank you since they are footing the cost of the event for you.

My bridesmaid is hosting-- and I know she has a lot of stress so I was planning on buying her a spa day...

I got my shower hostesses a bottle of wine and a candle. There were a couple who don't drink, so I got them tea and a candle.

I got everyone something I thought they would like and spent $20-$30 per person. My 6 BM's, my mom, FMIL, FH's aunt, and FH's grandmother. I was trying to stay low in price but with 10 people helping out with the shower it was difficult.

I'm also sending them all thank you cards after the shower. I may write them beforehand and give them to them at the end of the shower even.

I ordered a gift basket full of sweets and wine, from Gifttree, for my BS host.. She was very surprised and it came straight to her front door!

Yes, you should give them both gifts. It takes a lot of time and money to host a shower.

I'm giving all of my hostesses a bottle of champagne, a personalized wood cheese board, wedge of local cheese, and a cork handle cheese knife.
