Gifts for photographer/hmu artist/coordinator

Tonya, on July 15, 2019 at 11:50 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8
Hello! I need ideas for something small, simple and sweet to give to our photographer, hair and make up artists, and wedding coordinator. Our photographer is driving in from about four hours away so I wanted to give her a little care package, and then the other ones I just wanted something simple to give them a small thank you (on top of their pretty penny that their getting paid).

A cash tip is the best thing you can give a vendor as a thank you. Maybe a nice hand written thank you card.

I agree with Caytlyn. Even a small tip would be better than a candle or wine. You can also leave them nice reviews after the wedding.

I wrote each vendor a personal thank you card and gave them cash. They don’t really want all of the personal things. Think about how many weddings they do and all the stuff they would get that they don’t want. Cash is the best. After the wedding I spent time writing great reviews on various sites for them. They appreciate that even more.

Great advice everyone! I think my photographer Coming in from out of town will at least get a little care package with maybe water, coffee, snacks for her drive. But I will definitely do the note and have us all write them great reviews. How much is typically normal for a tip? It’s so hard to give them a cash tip when they are already getting so much money, but I do agree that they probably would appreciate that more

I asked our photographer, since I've seen thank you bags for vendors with things like a thank you note & energy drink & granola bar. She said all the vendors she talked to prefer that goes towards their cash tip rather than another thank you bag.

I would say give what you can. If you were going to get them a 20 dollar bottle of wine, give them 20 dollars instead. Of course, the bigger the tip the more they will like it lol.

Cash tips are definitely best. And feed them the day of! We are setting aside 75 to 100 for our DJ and photographer and 50 to 75 for our officiant.

I agree with PP. Skip gifts, feed them, do cash, add a thank you and leave great reviews (if you're happy, that is.
I'd skip the gifts for even the photographer as people like different snacks, water is easy to grab themselves, and people can be picky about coffee.
