Hello all,

I am getting married next month and my wife to be has two amazing girls. Ive been with their mother about 3 years and far as I am concerned they are already my kids. I want to give them a gift the day of the wedding that tells them that I love them and that I am not just marrying their mother, that I officially join my life to them too. They are 12 and 14 years old and I am not sure what to get. There are some great necklaces that have messages about how I may not have given them life but life gave me them. I’m just not sure if that is something girls their age would ever wear again after the wedding day. I would like to get them a gift with a nice message but one they would actually wear or use again. Any suggestions? Thank you for any help you can give me. I just want them to know that I love them and that I am proud to now officially be a part of their family.

Hi, Matt! Would a small diamond, possibly heart-shaped promise ring work? They may not be a large enough band to engrave, but perhaps a written letter, promising to always be there for them. (If they're like most girls, the letter will be cherished forever!) Best wishes to you and your new family!

Thank you so much for the suggestion. I do love the idea. Especially the part about a letter to school of them to go with the gift. I think they would really appreciate that.

I would just write a heartfelt note in a card. Girls of that age range tend to be particular about their jewelry styles. Get a keepsake gift that fits their interests (doesn’t have to have ‘daughter’ on it anywhere) in addition to the card. A non personalized jewelry box or something they can use of that nature if you want it more ‘generic’,

I think a timeless piece of jewelry with a nice handwritten note will be perfect. You get the best of both worlds with getting to include something personal but maybe a tiny solitaire diamond (or their birthstone ) necklace would allow them to truly wear it forever.
